  • Patent number: 6234469
Abstract: To determine the number of bills in a money processing apparatus, a dividing pin enters a bill housing via a guide groove to fall onto the top of the accumulated bills. The bills are circulated through a transport path, while identification of bill type and counting are executed. When sensors detect that the pin has reached the lowest point, the whole bills have once circulated through the transport path. The pin is withdrawn from the bill housing and is moved to a standby position. Number of bills in the bill housing is accurately and easily determined.

  • Patent number: 6003652
Abstract: A money receiving-paying machine of an integral structure includes a thin compact circulation type bill receiving-paying process portion and a thin compact circulation type coin receiving-paying process portion aligned side by side. The circulation type bill receiving-paying process portion includes a circulation type bill housing portion for sequentially housing bills regardless of their denominations, and a returning-bill transferring path for returning a bill to the circulation type bill housing portion by a first changeover gate when a bill has been identified as not necessary even if the bill is discharged in circulation. The bills are transferred in a bill short-side direction. The circulation type bill receiving-paying process portion includes rotation type coin receiving cylinders according to denominations positioned in an inclined bill or substantially horizontal state, so that upright coins can be housed therein in an orderly stacked state.

  • Patent number: 4593190
Abstract: Apparatus for inspecting capsules comprises a carrier belt which is formed into an endless belt configuration and can carry the capsules, with the capsules received separately in through-holes in the belt, and a plurality of parallelly disposed rotatable rollers which have axes of rotation extending substantially in parallel with the flow direction of the capsules being carried by the carrier belt. The rollers rotate the capsules which are in contact therewith. An optical inspecting device is provided for optically inspecting the surfaces of the capsules which are rotated in contact with the rotary rollers. The apparatus can accurately inspect very small defects on the surfaces of the capsules irrespective of the type of capsules, and is simple as well as compact in construction.

  • Patent number: 4354602
Abstract: A device for inspecting the external appearance of solid medicine having a solid medicine supplying section, a first drum-shaped conveying section for conveying solid medicines supplied by the solid medicine supplying section, at equal intervals so that one surface of each piece of solid medicine is observed. A second drum-shaped conveying section receives the solid medicine from the first drum-shaped conveying section and conveys the solid medicine at equal intervals so that the opposite surface of each solid medicine is observed. First and second observing units are provided adjacent to said first and second drum-shaped conveying sections for observing both surfaces of each piece of solid medicine respectively. A third observing unit is employed for observing the thickness of each piece of solid medicine conveyed by the first and second drum-shaped conveying sections at least before the piece of solid medicine reaches the second observing unit.
