The bridge has a cross-sectional shape of a trapezoid with tapered surfaces in which side surfaces of the lug groove at an end near a center in a longitudinal direction and an end near the first circumferential groove are inclined with heights thereof reduced toward corresponding ends of the bridge.

The planar base has at least two planar regions having mutually different heights and arrayed along the prescribed direction. The recessed region further has a second vertical face that connects the two planar regions and that forms a third edge between the second vertical face and a higher one of the planar regions. The third edge is inclined with respect to both a tire width direction and a tire circumferential direction.

The shoulder main groove is formed of a zigzag groove in which an inward bent portion and an outward bent portion are alternately and repeatedly disposed, and angles of the slits with respect to the tire width direction are provided to be 10 degrees or less.

The respective recessed regions each has a planar base that extends in a width direction of the each recessed region. The planar base is horizontal, or is inclined in such fashion that a height thereof increases so as to extend further toward an exterior in a tire radial direction as one proceeds toward a center of the each recessed region. Width of the planar base increases as one proceeds from the center in the width direction of the lug to an end of the lug.
