  • Patent number: 4970502
Abstract: A dot matrix type liquid crystal display panel is used with a central processor unit for displaying a message longer than the capacity of the display panel. The beginning portion of the message of a length equal to the capacity of the display panel is first displayed at one time and held on the display panel for a limited length of time facilitating the viewers' recognition of the meaning of the message. When the repeated display of the message is desired, the display state where the end of the message is in alignment with the last digit position of the display panel is held for a given length of time. The first and final holdings of the message results in enhancing legibility of the display contents on the panel.

  • Patent number: 4366477
Abstract: An electronic calculator with a dot matrix display panel capable of displaying characters, symbols or other patterns is implemented with a central processor unit (CPU). More particularly, when the length of characters is in excess of the capacity of the display panel, those characters are shifted dot by dot on the display panel in the running fashion. Numbers are displayed digit by digit, preferably.

  • Patent number: 4359730
Abstract: There is disclosed an information display system for displaying information. Information such as an English sentence "May I ask you to post this letter?" is first stored word by word in a first memory means. "May I ask you to post" is fetched from the first memory means and loaded into a second memory means for displaying the same on a display panel. After a predetermined period of time has gone on, the display is shifted by the number of characters in the next succeeding word to be displayed, i.e., four characters in "this" to establish a length of blank digits necessary for displaying "this". Subsequent to the shift operation the blank digits of a display panel is filled with "this". The process continues on a word for word basis until the complete sentence has been displayed.

  • Patent number: 4355367
Abstract: A waveform synthesizer arrangement for use in an audible output device is adapted to synthesize desired waveforms and includes a digital filter to reduce the generation of output noise. A time sequential process is effected on data to be reproduced which considers the total nature of waveforms of interest thus performing proper waveform adjustment to avoid acute changes in the waveforms. The time sequential process is affected by previous data and has the effect on the frequency construction of the resulting waveform.

  • Patent number: 4181848
Abstract: An electronic digital read-out scale having an extensible tape member is disclosed having a memory designed to store first measurement information for calculation with the subsequent measurement information. A memory key is included within the scale functions to transfer information to the memory. A plus key and a minus key are further provided within the electronic digital scale for addition or subtraction purposes, respectively. Final measurement results are derived through calculations of the measurement information stored in the memory with the subsequent measurement information.

  • Patent number: 4150282
Abstract: An extensible tape member is provided to extend along an object to be measured, and to permit a detection plate to rotate in unison with the pulling in and out movement of the extensible member. A pair of photo-electric elements is positioned with respect to the detection plate for developing detection signals in accordance with rotation of the detection plate. The detection signals are developed as a function of an amount of the extension of the tape member and the direction of the tape extension. The detection signals derived from the pair of the elements have a phase difference with respect to each other so as to determine whether the extensible tape member is being pulled out or in the housing of the digital scale, that is, the direction of the extension of the tape member. The detection signals are introduced into a logic circuit for developing control signals which are supplied to a display driver.
