  • Publication number: 20140327581
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a receiver for Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) verification of a target aircraft including a first input for receiving flight tracking information from a target aircraft that indicates positional information of the target aircraft. The receiver further includes a second input for receiving positional and heading information indicating the location and orientation of a multi-element array antenna configured to be attached to the receiver, and a processing module that generates a measured bearing derived from angle of arrival data, and an expected bearing of the target aircraft derived from the indicated positional information of the target aircraft and the positional and heading information defining the receiver location and orientation. A comparator compares the expected bearing to the measured bearing and verifies the ADS-B flight tracking information of the target aircraft and outputs an indication of authenticity based on the verification.

  • Publication number: 20140322540
Abstract: Provided are methods for structurally bonding adhesives to aluminum components without using adhesive bond primers. Also provided are apparatuses that include these structural bonds. An aluminum component may be treated with a conversion coating creating a conversion layer on the surface of the aluminum component and then treated with a sol-gel material creating a sol-gel layer on the conversion layer. An adhesive layer is applied directly onto the sol-gel layer without any adhesive bond primers. After curing the adhesive layer, a structural bond is formed between the aluminum component and the adhesive layer. The sol-gel material may be specifically formulated for a specific adhesive type and may include functional groups providing covalent bonds to the adhesive layer. The sol-gel material may be cured within about 30 minutes at a room temperature in comparison to 90 minutes at 250 F needed to cure a typical adhesive bond primer.

  • Publication number: 20140309970
Abstract: A model-management system includes a cycles map generator, object registry generator and runtime code generator. The cycles map generator is configured to create a cycles map that, for a cycle in an information model having a plurality of objects, identifies a non-dominant association of a second or later object to a first object. The object registry generator is configured to create an object registry map. And the runtime code generator is configured to generate an instantiable information model and object registry based on the information model and maps. Generation of the instantiable information model includes generation of a plurality of instantiable objects including a second/later instantiable object that, for the non-dominant association, includes an object qualifier that identifies a referenced object for the first object to be instantiated through the object registry, instead of a contained first instantiable object to be instantiated from within the second/later instantiable object.
