  • Patent number: 5217514
Abstract: A filtering device for a tenter for the gaseous treatment of fabrics includes a movable filtering belt which traverses the entire length and cross section of the tenter. Pressure nozzles on the clean side of the belt dislodge collected materials into waste collectors which are in communication with discharge dusts traversed by the belt, the belt thus filters gases returned for internal circulation and gases emitted to the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 5134805
Abstract: A fabric tenter device having a pivotally mounted roof which may carry a nozzle box is provided with a counterbalance assembly enabling the roof and box to be pivotally shifted from the tenter covering to an open position by manual lifting forces. The counterbalance assembly is comprised of a lever divided into two arms, the lever being pivotally mounted on a fulcrum fixed to the tenter housing. The lever includes a weight arm underlying the roof and a power arm to the opposite side of the fulcrum. A chain having one end fixed to the power arm has its other end attached to a spring mechanism carried by the weight arm, the chain being arranged over a guide roller or rollers in such manner that the spring is tensioned to its maximum extent when the roof is in the tenter covering position.

  • Patent number: 5028011
Abstract: A method and apparatus for winding a running fabric web uninterruptedly on first and then on second takeup rolls following the formation of a transverse cut is disclosed. The web is driven in a path which includes a loop and the second takeup roll is engaged with the loop to drive the second takeup roll and form with the second roll a nip narrowing in the feed direction of the web. The cut end of the web, now being fed by an auxiliary drive, is introduced into the nip thereby to clamp the web to the second takeup roll. An apparatus for practicing the method is likewise disclosed, the apparatus including a first drive for the first takeup roll, a guide for forming a loop of the fabric, a second drive for feeding the fabric independent of the first drive and mechanism for shifting the second takeup roll into driving engagement with the loop.

  • Patent number: 4977651
Abstract: A covering device for the inlet and outlet slots of a tenter comprises a flexible plastic strip whose ends are fastened in the region of the ends of the respective slot. In the area where the chain rail guides extend through the slot, the plastic strip is deflected in U-shaped configuration by deflector elements outside the slot and spanning the chain guides. The deflector elements are angularly oriented relative to the longitudinal axis of the slot at an angle of about 45 degrees and are fastened on a movable carriage connected to the chain guides so that movement of the chain guides transversely of the slot functions also to move the U-shaped configuration of the flexible plastic strip.

  • Patent number: 4694526
Abstract: An apparatus for the treatment of a textile web supported on a tenter by contact with a heated treatment medium is disclosed. The apparatus includes a nozzle box or boxes having openings directed toward a fabric web to be treated. A by-pass opening is provided for conducting the treatment medium from the compression to the suction side of a circulating apparatus. The cross sectional area of the by-pass opening is substantially identical to the total of the cross sectional areas of the nozzles of the nozzle box, whereby the flow resistance of the treatment medium is independent to whether flow is through the nozzle openings or through the by-pass opening or some combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 4656756
Abstract: For a method for heat-treating textile material, and for a tenter for carrying out the method, it is proposed to control the textile web velocity as a function of the point on the treatment path at which the maximum deviation in the amount of energy spent per unit time occurs. To determine this point on the treatment path it is not necessary, therefore, to measure the momentary temperature of the textile material directly or the temperatures of the treatment medium flowing in and out. Instead, it suffices to determine the individual valve positions which indicate the amounts of energy supplied per unit time, and to infer therefrom the site of the treatment path where the drying process is completed and the fixing process sets in.

  • Patent number: 4406139
Abstract: There is disclosed a dewatering roller assembly for Foulard fabrics or the like characterized in that the two rollers through which the fabric strip is passed are caused to bend or deform about mutually corresponding bending lines so that a uniform gap or a predictably variable gap between the rollers is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4131977
Abstract: The present invention is directed to improvements in a tenter frame device, and more particularly relates to a means for enabling the rails of a tenter frame to be shifted transversely relative to the longitudinal axis of the rails and also for the rails to be angularly oriented with respect to each other, the device automatically maintaining the angular relation of the rails to each other within predetermined limits.
