  • Patent number: 6144568
Abstract: The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for operating electrical lamps which encompasses an invertor (WR) with oscillation build-up circuit (trigger generator), comprising diac (DC1) and drive circuit. The drive circuit comprises a high-pass filter, in particular an RC high-pass filter (R1, C1). As a result, the trigger initiation is shifted closer to the zero crossing of the supply voltage. This means, in turn, that a more sinusoidal power supply current consumption with a smaller proportion of harmonics is obtained. In addition, more stable lamp operation is achieved in combination with power supply segment control dimmers.

  • Patent number: 5896288
Abstract: The present invention relates to a converter housing 10, in particular for n electronic converter for halogen lamps. The converter housing 10 in this case has a basic housing body 12 for holding electronic components, and a terminating element 14 with a cable support for supporting at least one electric connecting cable. The basic housing body 12 and the terminating element 14 are arranged perpendicular to one another in this case. At the end opposite the terminating element 14, the basic housing body 12 additionally has an end face 18 rounded off towards its underside.

  • Patent number: 5864211
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for operating electrical incandescent bulbs, particrly low-volt halogen incandescent bulbs, comprises an inverter in the half-bridge circuit and an overload detector circuit, which comprises a current-voltage transformer, e.g., a resistance (R4), which is serially connected between first half-bridge capacitor (C3) and ground potential. The current-voltage transformer controls a signal-conditioning and cutoff circuit (R5-R7, C4, C5, D4, T3), which disconnects the inverter at least temporarily in the case of overload or short circuit. Preferably, current-voltage transformer (R4) of the overload detector circuit is a component of a frequency adaptation circuit (L1, R4), which opposes a decrease in the frequency of the inverter in the upper power connection range. This variant is particularly cost-favorable, since in this case, no additional component is required for detector circuit (R4).
