  • Patent number: 4684114
Abstract: An index table comprising a base, a main plate mounted on the base, a drive wheel mounted for rotation on one side of the main plate about a first axis transverse to the main plate, a work plate on the other side of the main plate rotatably mounted about a second transverse axis spaced from the first transverse axis, and a segment wheel mounted on the one side of said main plate and fixed with relation to the work plate. Circumferentially spaced segment drivers are mounted on the drive wheel and are adapted to engage circumferentially spaced slots on the segment wheel to intermittently drive the segment wheel and in turn the work plate. A yoke plate is mounted on the one side of the main plate for movement radially with respect to the drive wheel and the segment wheel. As the drive wheel rotates, each segment driver engages the yoke plate and moves the yoke plate relative to the segment wheel.

  • Patent number: 4361420
Abstract: For use in a welding system which uses combustible gases and the like, a flash arrester comprising a main body having an opening therethrough and including a frusto-conical seat, and a ball cage body positioned in the main body and having an axial opening therein. The ball cage body has a frusto-conical seat complementary to the first-mentioned seat of the main body. The other end of the ball cage body has axially extending slots to provide spaced axially extending fingers. The fingers have frusto-conical surfaces. A ball seat member is provided on the other end of the main body and has a frusto-conical ball seat. A ceramic ball is provided between the fingers and is freely movable between the second valve seat and the ball seat.

  • Patent number: 4332313
Abstract: A bicycle brake for a bicycle having a frame with a hub in which pedal cranks are rotatably mounted comprising a disc rotatably mounted on the hub for rotation with the cranks and a brake shoe pivoted to the frame and extending upwardly along the front of the rear tire of the bicycle and having a surface for engaging the tire upon actuation of the brake. The brake includes a ball clutch arm pivoted on the shoe and extending upwardly and forwardly toward the periphery of the disc. The arm has opposed walls between which the periphery of the disc extends and the walls have inwardly facing grooves that taper transversely and longitudinally in a rearward direction.

  • Patent number: 4268055
Abstract: A fork assembly for use in removably mounting a pair of bicycle fork tubes having longitudinally extending upper and lower brackets on a fork mounting tube of a bicycle frame comprising an inner tube rotatably mounted within the fork mounting tube and a rod extending through the inner tube. The brackets have rearwardly extending slots through which the rod passes to engage the fork assembly. A lower spool on the rod is adapted to engage the under side of the lower bracket and an upper spool on the rod is adapted to engage the under side of the upper bracket. The spools are movable longitudinally with the rod within the inner tube. Spring means within the inner tube yieldingly urges the spools into engagememt with the brackets.

  • Patent number: 4129317
Abstract: A bicycle comprising a frame including a pair of substantially identical side frames which are mirror images of one another. Each side frame comprises a single length of tubular material of substantially constant cross section throughout with the ends of the single length providing vertically spaced free ends. A seat mast having a crank housing tube connected to the lower end thereof has its upper end joined to the pair of frames. A fork mounting tube of substantially constant diameter is provided between the frames, and a fork assembly is mounted for pivotal movement about the axis of the fork tube in a manner in which it can be quickly disconnected from the frame. Dropouts are in the free ends of each side frame and the ends of fork tubes of the fork assembly, and a wheel is rotatably mounted on the dropouts.

  • Patent number: 4049252
Abstract: An index table comprising a base, a table mounted about an axis for rotation on the base and means for indexing said table to bring successive stations of the table into predetermined positions. Spaced locating plates are fixed on said table at circumferentially spaced points and radially movable locking pins are provided on the base and are movable radially inwardly to engage the locating plates and lock the table relative to said base and are movable radially outwardly to disengage the table from the base. Upon rotation of the table to move the radial locking pins radially outwardly, a pump is operated to pump oil to various portions of the table.
