    Abstract: A method comprising receiving, from a user device, a user identifier, the user identifier being associated with a user of the user device, confirming that the user's identity has been confirmed, retrieving, from a remote health record maintained by a third-party health service provider, health information regarding a virus-related test provided on the user, providing a virus-related test status based on the virus-related test results to the user device, receiving an invalidity indication from the third-party health-related entity, the invalidity indication indicating that a particular test is no longer considered valid, reviewing a record of the user to confirm if the user received the particular test, determining that the virus-related test is no longer valid based on the invalidity indication, providing a notice to the user device that the virus-related test status is no longer considered to be valid, and providing an update to the virus-related test status.

    Abstract: A substrate is provided herein for supporting at least one optical fiber, and preferably a plurality of parallel optical fibers. The substrate includes a base substrate of a suitable material a longitudinally-extending strain-relief area at one end thereof along a longitudinal axis thereof at least one longitudinally-extending groove, and preferably a plurality of parallel grooves, along the longitudinally-extending axis, and abutting the strain-relief area 10 and a first and optionally also a second transversely-extending trench across the substrate. Two such substrates may provide a bottom plate and a top plate, which are superposed to provide a precursor sandwich which supports one or more optical fibers. The precursor sandwich comprises the top plate which is superposed over the bottom plate, with one or more optical fibers therebetween in the strain-relief area, and with one or more bare exposed optical fibers in the longitudinally-extending groove or grooves.

    Abstract: A transceiver for use with a digital telephone apparatus adapted to be connected for duplex communication to a telephone speech transmission line includes a receiving unit and a transmitting unit. The receiving unit processes an incoming serial ternary level signal stream composed of alternate mark inverted (AMI) encoded pulses and received from the transmission line. A compensation filter compensates distortions of the transmitted signals. A full wave rectifier circuit generates unipolar output signals. A pulse detection circuit derives rectangular pulses from the unipolar output signals. A phase-locked loop (PLL) circuit reconstructs a clock pulse train from the rectangular pulses. The transmitting unit receives an outgoing serial data stream from the telephone apparatus and internal clock pulses from that PLL circuit and includes means for converting the pulses of the outgoing data stream into AMI encoded signals.

    Abstract: A synchronizing circuit for use with a digital communication system is disclosed. A serial data stream is arranged in frames composed of at least two data words containing a synchronization signalling code and binary coded information, respectively. For detecting the alignment of consecutive frames the synchronizing circuit includes a serial/parallel converter and a synchronizing detector logic network for generating two control signals indicating the presence of the synchronization code in form of a normal synchronizing bit pattern or an inverted synchronizing bit pattern respectively. An AND-gate logically links the first control signal delayed by one pulse frame to the undelayed second control signal and generates a synchronizing signal. A time slot generator produces enabling signals by means of counting subsequent system clock pulses under control of this synchronizing signal such that during receiving of different data words of a frame a respective one of the enabling signals is present.
