  • Publication number: 20200387076
Abstract: An optical measurement method using an optical sensor apparatus (15), the optical sensor apparatus comprising an optical element (20) comprising a mark (22) configured to selectively transmit incident radiation (24), a photodetector (26) configured to receive radiation transmitted by the mark and provide an output signal that is indicative of the received radiation, and a support (30) which supports the optical element and is in thermal contact with the optical element. A thermal conductivity of the support is greater than a thermal conductivity of the optical element and a coefficient of thermal expansion of the support is greater than a coefficient of thermal expansion of the optical element. The method comprises performing a first measurement using the optical sensor apparatus, the first measurement including illuminating the mark with radiation. The temperature of the optical element changes during the first measurement.

  • Patent number: 8167434
Abstract: The invention relates to a light projection system (10) for use in conjunction with a display device (40). The light projection system comprises a light source for emitting light being modulated by video and/or audio content of the display device (40), and a light guide (20). The longitudinal light guide guides light emitted by the light source substantially along a longitudinal axis (26) and projects the light propagating through the longitudinal light guide on a projection surface (50). The longitudinal light guide comprises: a light input window, and a plurality of light out-coupling elements. The plurality of light out-coupling elements project the light on the projection surface via light out-coupling elements comprising sub-sets (70a, 70d) of light out-coupling elements. A particular sub-set (70a, 70d) is arranged for substantially illuminating a particular area (50a, 50d) of the projection surface (50).

  • Publication number: 20100080018
Abstract: The invention relates to a compensating light guide (10) for guiding visible light (20) from a light source (100). The light guide has a first transmission region (1TR), where light is guided from the light source along a first optical path (1OP), and a second transmission region (2TR), where light is guided from the light source along a second optical path (2OP). The light guided along the second optical path has a larger absorption in a first sub band resulting in an absorption difference between the first and the second optical path. The first (1TR) and second (2TR) transmission regions are optically arranged to transmit light so as to relatively reduce a second sub band of the first spectral distribution. The relative reduction between the first (1TR) and second (2TR) transmission regions is proportionated so as to psycho-visually compensate the absorption difference in the light guide (10) resulting in a uniform color emitted from the light guide (10) as perceived by a viewer (200).
