  • Patent number: 10891456
Abstract: The present invention relates to a barcode reader comprising a casing, a pane, the pane and casing defining an interior volume; a reading head, and a light source that is able to emit light beams. Each light source and the pane are arranged so that all the transmitted light beams emerge from an outer face of the pane with an angle (?) smaller than or equal to 35 degrees with said outer face. An inner face of the pane includes a peripheral entry face for incident beams, each light source being arranged opposite said peripheral face with its illumination direction perpendicular to said peripheral face, said peripheral face being inclined with respect to a direction normal to a plate of the pane and making up an angle (?) strictly larger than 48.19 degrees with said normal direction.

  • Patent number: 8719570
Abstract: The present invention relates to a roaming electronic transaction terminal. It also relates to a secure system for electronic transactions comprising one or more roaming terminals. The terminal (1) has an application package support (2) and a coupler (3) for carrying out the read and write operations on a medium that are required for the electronic transactions in conjunction with the application package. The coupler (3) comprises means for creating a write time window and a read time window on the basis of a secure input signal, all writing and all reading being disabled outside of the corresponding windows. The invention applies notably for the securing of terminals carrying out checks and contractual transactions on supports equipped with processors and memories, it being possible for these supports to be through contactless read and write cards comprising for example transport entitlements, payment means or any other entitlements to be turned to account.

  • Patent number: 8411864
Abstract: A method of modifying a set of secrets in a cryptographic module, to ensure that the modifying is either successful or invalid. The module includes readable version numbers for each secret and for the set of secrets. If the version number of the set of secrets is equal to a version number requiring the loading of a set of new secrets, the version number of the set of secrets of the cryptographic module is set to a distinctive number indicating that the cryptographic module is being reloaded. Next, for each secret, if the version number of the secret is different from the version number of the corresponding new secret to be loaded, the new secret and its version number are loaded. Next the version number of the set of secrets of the cryptographic module is set to the version number of the set of new secrets.

  • Publication number: 20110093300
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of processing data from a travel ticket, whereby the data stored in the ticket comprise contract instances, i.e. data relating to the use of a transport service. The inventive method comprising the following steps consisting in: reading a pre-selection file which contains a record of each stored contract instance, each record comprising at least one selection field and a pointer to reference a contract instance; and preparing a pre-selection list from the data read in the pre-selection file, said pre-selection list referencing the stored contract instances by order of preference. In this way, the contract instance data can be read in said order of preference, thereby accelerating processing speed since it is not necessary for all of the contract instance data to be read.

  • Publication number: 20100135496
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for modifying a set of secrets in a crypto-graphic module. The cryptographic module ensures that the loading of a secret is either complete or null and void. The module enables a reading of a version number for each secret. The module includes information indicating a version number corresponding to the set of secrets. The method of the invention includes a first step during which, if the version number of the set of secrets is equal to a version number that requires the loading of a set of new secrets, the version number of the set of secrets in the cryptographic module is made equal to a distinctive number that determines that the cryptographic module is being uploaded. The method comprises a second step during which, for each secret and if the version number of said secret is different from the version number of the corresponding new secret to be downloaded, the new secret and the version number thereof are loaded.

  • Publication number: 20100014658
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of customizing a security component in an unprotected environment. The method according to embodiments of the invention includes: inserting a first secret K0 into said security component, said insertion implemented in a secure domain under the responsibility of the manufacturer of the security component; generating an application secret K and generating a customization cryptogram [K]K0 obtained by encrypting the application secret K with the first secret K0, in an application secure domain under the responsibility of the holder of the security component; and customizing the security component by inserting the customization cryptogram [K]K0 into said security component, said customization step being implemented in an application domain. The invention applies to components of secure access module type.

  • Patent number: 7568065
Abstract: The carrying out of the invention requires the preallocation of a memory spaces (A0 . . . A6) group (DHS) to a card. The number of allocated memory spaces is greater than the number of records (E1 . . . E6) of a related file (FHS). The number of extra-allocated memory spaces makes it possible to carry out the inventive updating operations. During the updating, only new data (d7) are written on the card without losing old data (d1). For this purpose, new data (d7) are written in the memory spaces (A2) which are free of old data (d1) of the file. Said memory spaces are selected from the preallocated memory spaces. When new data is written, a new descriptor (IHS2) of the file is written, thereby making it possible to retrieve the new file records from among the allocated memory spaces.

  • Publication number: 20090125661
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for secure transactions of card-borne value units. The system comprises a card peripheral device for setting up a link with the card and comprising a transparent mode, a terminal linked to the card peripheral device, a host device linked to the terminal. The host device comprises a transactional application suitable for processing the value units on the card and cryptographic means making it possible to read and/or write values units and other information on the card. The card peripheral device operates in transparent mode. The terminal redirects the information originating from or addressed to the card peripheral device to the host device. The host device dialogs with the card via commands and data interchanges. In particular, the invention applies to the topping-up of a chip card, notably from computer means available to the user in possession of said card and an ordinary chip card reader.
