  • Publication number: 20060009901
Abstract: A motor vehicle braking device (12) including parking brake and a first sensor (16) for detecting the state of a member (14) of the parking brake to provide an item of information to a computer (20) via an electric cable (22) connecting this computer to a an adjacent sensor (18) placed close to the state detection sensor 16).

  • Patent number: 6938965
Abstract: A hydraulic braking apparatus for a motor vehicle having a service braking system (A) fed by a central hydraulic unit (3) and an emergency braking system (B). A simulator (M) resists a forward motion of an actuator member (D, 16) for a master cylinder (17) to define a reaction corresponding to the progress of a braking operation. Admission solenoid values (9a-9d) and exhaust solenoid values (14a-14d) connected to the wheel brakes (2a-2d) modulate pressurized fluid supplied by a central hydraulic unit (3) in effecting the braking operation. Sensors (8, 13a-13d, 24, 29) in the motor vehicle detect various braking parameters that are communicated to a computer (C) to control the solenoid valves (9a-9d; 14a-14d) such that the braking operation is a function of the travel of the actuator member (D, 16).

  • Patent number: 6871916
Abstract: A sensor module including a processing unit, a stroke sensor and a force sensor (3) for obtaining data relating to both a force exerted on an axially-moving rod (1) and the travel of the rod through a determination of the position of the piston (2) with respect to the rod (1). The sensor module is characterized by a first stationary electrical coil (5) that is arranged about the piston (2) and the rod (1) and a second moving electrical coil (6) that is disposed about the rod (1) and connected to the force sensor (3). The first (5) and second (6) coils are coaxial and as a result induced oscillatory voltage within the stationary coil (5) generates an eddy current within the piston (2) that permit a measurement of the stroke of the piston (2) by means of eddy-current signal received by the stroke sensor using the piston (2) as a test body, and supplying the force sensor with electrical power through the second moving electrical coil (6).

  • Publication number: 20050005988
Abstract: A flexible hose having a wall comprising at least one interlayer (3, 4), to ensure mechanical strength, and two sealing layers (1, 2) lying one on each side of the interlayer. The wall includes an intermediate ply (5) of wires made of a shape-memory material that are arranged and oriented so that their contraction, when the temperature rises, opposes the mechanical deformation of the wall under the effect of pressure.

  • Publication number: 20040075336
Abstract: Hydraulic braking apparatus for a motor vehicle, comprising: a service braking system (A), fed by a central hydraulic unit (3); an emergency braking system (B); a hand-control member (D, 16); a master cylinder (17); at least one safety valve (26, 28); a simulator (M), intended to resist the forward motion of the hand-control member (D, 16) with a reaction corresponding to the progress of a braking operation, such simulator comprising a cylinder (30) in which a simulator piston (31) slides while being subjected, in one direction, to a fluid pressure coming from the master cylinder (17) and, in the opposite direction, to a counterforce dependent on the travel of the hand-control member; admission solenoid valves (9a-9d) and exhaust solenoid valves (14a-14d), connected to the wheel brakes (2a-2d); sensors (8, 13a-13d, 24, 29) for the detection of various braking parameters; and a computer (C) capable of controlling the solenoid valves.

  • Publication number: 20040012253
Abstract: This invention relates to a sensor module, comprising a processing unit, a stroke sensor and a force sensor (3), and capable of determining, inside the associated pneumatic servomotor for an assisted braking, data concerning both the force exerted on an axially-moving rod (1), and the travel of said rod (1), by the determination of the position of the piston (2) coupled to the rod (1).

  • Patent number: 6164336
Abstract: A hydraulic capacity having a hollow body (2) made of a rubber material and a rigid body (3) which surrounds the hollow body (2) to limit the expansion of the hollow body (2). The hydraulic capacity containing at each instant an instantaneous volume (V) of fluid to which an instantaneous pressure is applied as a function of the instantaneous volume (V). The hollow body (2) has a wall (21) which is simultaneously in contact with the casing (3) and at least via of a first zone (Z1) and a second zone (Z2). The first zone (Z1) has a first thickness (E1) and the second zone (Z2) has a second thickness (E2) which are separated from each other by a third zone (Z3) having a third thickness (E3). The third zone (Z3) being separated from the casing (3) and the third thickness (E3) being different than the first (E1) and second (E2) thickness such that an instantaneous pressure (P) of the fluid is controlled according to a predefined relationship.
