Patent number: 11951036Abstract: A device for providing a droplet of a liquid stored in an interior of a vial is disclosed that includes a support body and a resilient dome portion mounted to the support body to form a chamber having air, with the dome portion being configured to create an air flow when activated by compression. The support body includes a vial seat, a nozzle, and air flow and transfer conduits. The support body is arranged, when the vial is received by the vial seat, such that the air flow conduit establishes an air connection between the vial interior and the chamber, the transfer conduit establishes a fluid connection between the vial and the nozzle, and, upon activation of the dome portion, the air flow delivers air into the vial that causes liquid to be transferred from the vial to the nozzle through the transfer conduit.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2018Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: HOFFMANN-LA ROCHE INC.Inventors: Maxime Gaillot, Roberta Leah, Declan Reilly, Thomas Thueer, Jack Carroll, James Coop, Edward Sims, Mark Teucher

Patent number: 11951073Abstract: A device for transferring a liquid from a first vial to a second vial is disclosed having a dome portion configured to create an air flow when activated by compression and re-expansion, and a support body tightly supporting the dome portion to form a chamber with air therein. The support body includes first and second vial seats, and a transfer conduit. The first and second vial seats are arranged to receive the first and second vials. When the first and second vials are received in the first and second vial seats, the transfer conduit is arranged to establish a fluid connection between the first vial and the second vial. Upon activation of the dome portion, air is delivered into the first vial, thereby creating a pressure rise in the first vial which causes the liquid to transfer from the first vial to the second vial through the transfer conduit.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2018Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: HOFFMANN-LA ROCHE INC.Inventors: Maxime Gaillot, Roberta Leah, Declan Reilly, Thomas Thueer, Jack Carroll, James Coop, Edward Sims, Mark Teucher

Publication number: 20190254266Abstract: Human or humanized tissues and organs suitable for transplant are disclosed herein. Gene editing of a host animal provides a niche for complementation of the missing genetic information by donor stem cells. Editing of a host genome to knock out or debilitate genes responsible for the growth and/or differentiation of a target organ and injecting that animal at an embryo stage with donor stem cells to complement the missing genetic information for the growth and development of the organ. The result is a chimeric animal in which the complemented tissue (human/humanized organ) matches the genotype and phenotype of the donor. Such organs may be made in a single generation and the stem cell may be taken or generated from the patient's own body. As disclosed herein, it is possible to do so by simultaneously editing multiple genes in a cell or embryo creating a “niche” for the complemented tissue.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2016Publication date: August 22, 2019Applicants: Regents of the University of Minnesota, Recombinetics, Inc., Board of Regents of the University of Texas SystemInventors: Scott C. Publication number: 20190010913Abstract: A water wheel generator assembly that has a shell formed by a housing, which can be a pre-existing water wheel, and a pair of cover plates. The cover plates have weep holes and vents that maintain pressure, buoyancy, and balance, while improving efficiency and reducing wear on a generator. An internal ridge forces water out from a cavity of the shell. Shell bearings are inset in the cover plates that carry the weight of the shell, removing the weight on the generator. A hollow through shaft passes through the cover plates and allows the passage of cabling therethrough to permit stringing assemblies together. Within the shell, multiple generators can be strung together.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 11, 2018Publication date: January 10, 2019Inventors: Phillip Chauvin, Michael Thomas Carroll

Patent number: 10030514Abstract: A method of monitoring fluid flow in an oil reservoir includes the step of delivering a nutrient package to an oil reservoir. The nutrient package stimulates the growth of resident microbes/organisms which changes the morphology and function of the microbes. A sample is taken from produced fluids from wells in the reservoir and possible connections thereof and analyzed. Based on the analysis, determinations are made regarding the movement of fluids in the reservoir by observing changes in the range, concentration, and cell morphology of the microbes after nutrient stimulation by comparing pre-treatment versus post treatment measurements.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2014Date of Patent: July 24, 2018Assignee: TITAN OIL RECOVERY, INC.Inventors: Alan James Sheehy, Brian W.
