  • Publication number: 20170250824
Abstract: Efficient certificate revocation list (CRL) processing is disclosed. A desired modification to an encoded CRL is determined. A computing device sequentially processes, during a first pass, a first CRL stream comprising the CRL to identify a CRL length difference between the CRL and a modified CRL based on the desired modification. The computing device sequentially processes, during a second pass, a second CRL stream comprising the CRL. The computing device, during the second pass, streams a modified encoded header portion to a modified CRL stream that identifies a new length of the modified CRL based on the length difference, streams a modified encoded CRL entries portion comprising a plurality of CRL entries to the modified CRL stream that contains the desired modification, and streams a modified encoded trailer portion to the modified CRL stream that contains a new digital signature based on the desired modification.

  • Publication number: 20170081500
Abstract: A material system and method for bonding refractory powders in a three dimensional printer. A first particulate component including a refractory material is mixed with a first reactive component to form a particulate mixture. A flat layer of the particulate mixture is dispensed onto a build surface. A liquid binder, which may include a furan monomer and a surfactant, is dispensed by an ink-jet printhead onto the particulate mixture. The particulate mixture may contain a furan-soluble polymer that imposes a capillary attraction for the liquid binder, keeping it situated in the immediate vicinity of where the binder is dispensed. Additionally it provides a sufficient catalytic power to co-polymerize with the furan monomer and form a solid structure. This enables a 3D printer to build strong, accurate parts with high packing density, and to reuse the feed material many times in the printer.

  • Publication number: 20170039059
Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, and apparatus for managing firmware, settings, and parameters of an automotive controller using a local device, a client device, and a system server. The local device is connected to the automotive controller and is wirelessly connected to the client device. The client device is connected to the system server. The client device receives engine data from the local device that receives the engine data from the automotive controller and the client device sends the engine data to the server system. Firmware, settings, and parameter updates are selected with the client device, sent to the local device, and then sent to the automotive controller.

  • Publication number: 20160287630
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for killing persister cells with mitomycin C and/or cisplatin, or derivatives thereof. Recalcitrant infections are difficult to treat due to persister cells, a subpopulation of all bacterial populations that is highly tolerant against all traditional antibiotics since the cells are dormant and antibiotics are designed to kill growing cells. Here, we show that MMC and cisplatin eradicate persister cells through a growth-independent mechanism, cross-linking DNA. We find both agents are effective against both planktonic cultures and highly robust biofilm cultures for a broad range of bacterial species, including commensal Escherichia coli K-12 as well as pathogenic species of E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In certain approaches cisplatin is superior to MMC.

  • Patent number: 9384424
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for providing customized user experiences with media assets created using plenoptic content capture technology. The ability to increase the focus on different objects while the media asset is progressing may allow a user to more easily track the object. Conversely, the ability to decrease the focus on different objects while the media asset is progressing may block, or cloud the display of, the object from being seen by a user.

  • Publication number: 20160091109
Abstract: A control valve includes a valve housing, a plurality of valves located within the valve housing, and a moveable member that is configured to move within the housing, the moveable member including a plurality of cam extensions. As the moveable member moves (e.g., rotates), the cam extensions interact against the valves to open and close the valves in a prescribed order. The control valve may be controlled to inflate a zoned object. The valves may include at least two zone valves for communicating pressurized air into the object, and a vent valve for venting the object via the zone valves. At any given position of the moveable member, the cam extensions are positioned to one of: opening one of the zone valves, opening one of the zone valves and the vent valve, or maintaining all of the valves closed. The rotating member may be a cylindrical cam shaft with radially extending cams.

  • Patent number: 9288531
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed herein for supplementing media assets in order to compensate for a particular disability of a user. Specifically, a media guidance application determines whether or not a user can comprehend a media asset based on the particular disability of the user. Upon determining that the user cannot comprehend the media asset, the media guidance application supplements the media asset with supplemental data, which compensates for the particular disability of the user.

  • Patent number: 9254717
Abstract: A pneumatic tire includes a tread, two circumferentially extending annular bead regions, a carcass structure, and an overlay ply. The tread is rotatable about an axis and contacts a road surface. The tread further has an equatorial plane intersecting the axis at 90°. The carcass structure extends between the tread and the bead regions. The carcass structure supports the tread about the axis. The carcass structure includes two or more carcass plies having reinforcing cords oriented to cross at opposite angles of 20° to 65° with respect to the equatorial plane. The overlay ply extends circumferentially and extends radially between the carcass structure and the tread. The overlay ply includes cords oriented between ?5° and +5° relative to the equatorial plane.

  • Publication number: 20160008565
Abstract: The ventilation interface for sleep apnea therapy interfaces a ventilation device to the patient's airways. The ventilation interface includes a pair of nasal inserts made from flexible, resilient silicone which are oval shaped in cross-section and slightly tapered from a base proximal the ventilation supply to the distal tip end. A bead flange is disposed about the exterior of each insert at the distal end of the insert. A bleed port for release of exhaled air is defined through a conical vent projecting normally to the path of the incoming air flow, and continues through a nipple extending to the exterior of the air conduit. In one embodiment, a pair of nasal inserts are integral with a nasal cannula body, with bleed ports axially aligned with each insert. In another embodiment, each insert is independently connected to a separate, thin-walled, flexible supply line.

  • Patent number: 9180632
Abstract: An advanced reflexive structure system is disclosed. The reflexive system mimics the pain withdrawal reflex on which the human body relies. The reflexive system incorporates a continuous health and performance monitoring system via an embedded dielectric film, an adaptive composite structure based on shape memory composite material, and an intelligence system which will be interfaced with both the health/performance sensors and the adaptive structure. When activated shape memory polymer will recover its structural integrity via shape recovery and a reptation healing process. These features enable the use of SMP as an adaptive structure in the proposed reflexive system. The development of a reflexive system for structures will enable increased safety and security and demonstrate a better understanding of integrated performance systems.

  • Patent number: 9069764
Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for providing a media guidance application that identifies users accessing the same media asset, determines which users desire to communicate with each other, and provides an asset-integrated notification to each of the users desiring to communicate, facilitating communication between the users. For example, other users with a desire to communicate with an initial user that are accessing the same media asset as the initial user may be indicated by inserting a media element representative of the other users directly into the media asset watched by an initial user.

  • Patent number: 9028944
Abstract: A stitched fabric including a barrier layer configured to inhibit fluid flow and a yarn stitched through and forming stitch holes in the barrier layer. The yarn and the barrier layer are free from contact by another layer on either side of the barrier layer. As such, the stitched fabric may be employed as a wearable fabric for a garment without the need for, for example, a separate face layer and a separate interior layer.
