  • Patent number: 8854202
Abstract: Management systems, methods, and mediums. A method includes identifying a description of a system object from a request to generate an event enrollment object to monitor the system object in response to receiving the request. The method includes storing the description of the system object in association with the event enrollment object. The method includes identifying the stored description of the system object associated with the event enrollment object in response to identifying an alarm generated for the event enrollment object. Additionally, the method includes including the description of the system object in a notification of the alarm generated for event enrollment object.

  • Publication number: 20130086066
Abstract: Management systems, methods, and mediums. A method includes identifying a name of a first object in a plurality of objects. The plurality of objects is associated with one more devices communicably connected to a building automation and controls network. The method includes parsing characters in the name of the first object to identify a plurality of name segments separated by one or more delimiters in the name in response to identifying the one or more delimiters. The method includes identifying a type of the first object and a location of a first device associated with the first object based on the plurality of name segments. Additionally, the method includes generating a hierarchical structure for the plurality of objects based on the type and the location, the hierarchical structure comprising a name for each of the plurality of objects.

  • Patent number: 7956719
Abstract: An arrangement for handling communication messages in a building control system includes a communication circuit and a control device. The communication circuit is operable to provide a first message on a communication network to a remote building control system device and to receive a responsive message generated by a remote building control system device responsive to the first message. The communication circuit is further operable to perform a first operation if the responsive message is received within a first time-out period and to perform a second operation if the responsive message is received after a first time-out period has expired. The control device is operable to generate a plurality of different time-out period values corresponding to a plurality of building control system devices and to provide information identifying the plurality of different time-out period values and their corresponding building control system devices to the communication circuit.
