  • Publication number: 20220060859
Abstract: A system information block (SIB) in a radio interface is dedicated to broadcast data intended for Internet of things (IoT) devices. The data can be associated with most any IoT service, such as but not limited to, a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and/or vehicle-to-everything (V2X) service. In one aspect, data, associated with an event, that has been aggregated from one or more IoT devices located within a region can be analyzed to determine a geographical area where a message regarding the event (e.g., accident) is to be broadcast. Further, the message can be dynamically prioritized and/or customized to target a particular class of IoT devices (e.g., connected cars) by employing different message identifiers.

  • Publication number: 20220038290
Abstract: A more efficient internet-of-things (IoT) manufacturing process can be achieved using hash functions to authenticate and identify IoT devices. Device data comprising manufacturer name data, device name data, software version data, and/or hardware version data can be feed through a hash function to generate hashed data. Additionally, same and/or similar data can be hashed via a manufacturing process. The two outputs from both sets of data can then be matched to determine the authentication of a device. Based on the authenticity of the device being verified, the IoT device can undergo a certification process as a part of the manufacturing process. This manufacturing process comprising hashed data can eliminate current manufacturing processes and allow for a unique identifier to be associated with the IoT device.

  • Patent number: 11228865
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a network device that comprises a processing system including a processor and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations. The operations include obtaining timing advance data regarding a communication device served by the network; the timing advance data is collected by a network element coupled to the network device, and the network element communicates with the communication device using control-plane signaling. The timing advance data is processed using location data regarding the network element to determine a geolocation of the communication device. The geolocation is stored at a storage device; the network device and storage device are included in a secure portion of the network. The geolocation is provided to equipment of a network customer accessing the secure portion of the network via a secure interface. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11125548
Abstract: A position-measuring device includes a carrier body and scanning units movable relative thereto. At least three surfaces of the carrier body each carry a first and second measuring graduation, each having a series of graduation lines. Each of the measuring graduations is associated with a scanning unit for scanning the respective measuring graduation at a scanning location such that, for each surface, two scanning units are disposed for scanning the respective measuring graduations. In each case, these two scanning units are disposed in such a way, and the graduation lines of the two measuring graduations are inclined with respect to each other in such a way, that two normal planes extending respectively in the direction of the respective graduation lines through the respective scanning locations of the two scanning units have a common axis of intersection, whereby the three resulting axes of intersection extend through a common point.

  • Patent number: 11025607
Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to vehicle-to-everything (“V2X”) certificate management. According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a system can receive a CRL from a security credential management (“SCM”) system. The CRL can identify one or more certificates that have been determined to be invalid, such as when the certificate(s) has expired. The certificate(s) can be utilized by a vehicle for secure communications, including vehicle-to-vehicle (“V2V”) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (“V2I”) (collectively V2X). The system can format the CRL as a cell broadcast message. The system can then create a cell broadcast request directed to a cell broadcast center (“CBC”). The cell broadcast request can include the CRL formatted as the cell broadcast message. The system can send the cell broadcast request to the CBC to instruct the CBC to broadcast the CRL as the cell broadcast message.
