  • Publication number: 20060231663
Abstract: A method for controlling an electric belt retractor (16) which has an electric motor (20) which can drive a belt spool (18) in a belt band retraction direction and/or in a belt band withdrawal direction, and a blocking catch which is able to be guided into blocking teeth in order to block a rotation of the belt spool (18) in the belt band withdrawal direction, comprises the following steps: Operating the electric motor (20) in belt band retraction direction for tensioning the belt band (26); Detecting a possible belt band withdrawal; Determining a stable vehicle state; and Re-operating the electric motor (20) in belt band retraction direction only when a belt band withdrawal is detected.

  • Patent number: 7116956
Abstract: An RF power oscillator for contactless card antennas shapes a carrier signal at the operating frequency utilizing a delay circuit having a number of taps for delaying the carrier signal by different lengths of time. The delayed signals are input into a buffer and output through impedance elements to a node coupled to the antenna. The resulting waveform for a square wave input signal, and equal-length delay taps, is a trapezoidal wave output. Any input wave form can be shaped in a variety of ways depending upon the combinations of delay taps used. Since the buffer drivers for each delayed wave switch state at slightly different times, the amplitude and bandwidth of emitted electromagnetic interference (EMI) is reduced for the transmission circuit.

  • Patent number: 7029498
Abstract: A height-variable vertebral body implant having a first, essentially U-shaped or C-shaped cage, and vertebral support surfaces formed on the first cage. The first cage is an inner cage, which is embraced and guided in a telescopic manner by a second, outer U-shaped or C-shaped cage. Further, legs of the inner and the outer cage are aligned such that a continuous lateral opening is obtained, and the inner and the outer cages are mutually fixed in a predetermined final position. The inner cage includes in an area of a part connecting the legs a longitudinally extending elongated hole having a unilateral toothing. In cooperation with an instrument including a complementary toothing, a relative movement and adjustment may be effected between the cages. In addition, a thread bore is formed in the outer cage in a position below the area of the elongated hole to fix a desired adjustment position.

  • Patent number: 5672328
Abstract: By using a method of removing silver in the form of sparingly soluble silver salt, especially silver sulfide, from a solution containing another silver compound, such as a silver thiosulfate complex in a photographic fix or rinsing fluid by precipitation, the solution is subjected to electromagnetic irradiation with a wavelength below 375 nm. The irradiated liquid is led through a filter-like means 33 which binds the silver sulfide to its surface as crystalline silver sulfide. As a result, the silver sulfide is precipitated and deposited on the surface of the means as solid silver sulfide which in its turns acts as a catalyst for further precipitation and depositing of solid silver sulfide on the surface of the means. By binding the solid silver sulfide to the surface of the means, the required capacity of a possible subsequent filter is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5085772
Abstract: A filter for filtration of fluids includes a filter cloth arranged in a housing with an inlet and an outlet. An acoustic field produced by an acoustic transducer, can act on the filter cloth. The invention the filter cloth is arranged substantially in a pressure node, i.e. a velocity antinode, of the acoustic field. As a result, a relatively inexpensive filter is obtained which is economical to operate due to the long durability of the filter.

  • Patent number: 5023846
Abstract: The ultrasound detector for a thin film includes an ultrasound transmitter and an ultrasound receiver. It is generally known that a plastic film introduced into a sound field attenuates the field to a greater or lesser degree. A sound wave of a frequency of e.g. 40 kHz has a wave length of approximately 9 mm in air. When a plastic film of a thickness of, e.g., 0.50-0.10 mm is introduced, the sound field is typically attenuated with 6-20 dB. The the ultrasound detector is formed as a resonator, and the distance between the transmitter and the receiver corresponds substantially to an integral multiple of one half of a wave length. As a result, the obtained sound field is stronger than previously and the attenuation caused by a plastic film between the transmitter and the receiver is higher than previously. Furthermore, the ultrasound frequency is scanned for taking tolerances, such as changes in temperature and humidity of air into account.
