  • Patent number: 5180223
Abstract: A completely portable and simply deployable wide-area low-intensity lighting fixture adapted for removable attachment to an RV awning utility beam, and assembled from a first length of flexible cylinder or tubing for removable insertion into a pre-existing indentation or utility channel in the utility beam, together with a rectangular sheet of flexible sheeting extending laterally from the first length of tubing, and a second length of transparent and flexible tubing connected to the side of the sheeting which is transversely opposite the side attached to the first length of tubing, as well as a collection of relatively uniformly wide-area low-intensity lighting elements disposed within the second length of transparent tubing, resulting in an inexpensively manufacturable and conveniently simply usable wide-area portable lighting system removably attachable to land or marine RVs.

  • Patent number: 4936599
Abstract: A universal tow guard for mounting to the front of a towed vehicle. There are first and second planar plastic shield members having a lip around top, bottom, and outer edges thereof. Each has an upper mounting point adjacent the top outer edge and a lower mounting point adjacent the bottom outer edge. Each also has a plurality of horizontal support bracket holes adjacent the bottom edge, a plurality of horizontal strut hole vertical pairs adjacent the top edge, and a plurality of horizontal width adjustment hole vertical pairs adjacent an inner end thereof. The second shield member slidably fits within the lips of the first shield member. There are a pair of adjustable struts for connection between selected ones of the strut hole vertical pairs and a front surface of the vehicle. There are also a pair of support brackets for connection to selected ones of the support bracket holes and for resting on the vehicle bumper.

  • Patent number: 4779918
Abstract: A removable, flexible, easily stored, combination privacy/sunscreen for use on the windshield and adjacent side windows of a recreational vehicle to limit light and outside viewing into the vehicle while permitting outside viewing from inside the vehicle. A sheet of flexible cloth material is shaped to fit over the outside of the windshield and adjacent side windows of the vehicle and includes means for releasably attaching the sheet to the vehicle in the above-described position. The sheet is of a non-woven material and comprises a plurality of closely spaced rows disposed on and bonded to a plurality of columns with the rows and columns disposed at right angles to one another and offset from one another. The material forming the rows is thicker and closer spaced than the material forming the columns and, further, forms a tortuous path for the passage of light therethrough which limits the maximum light passage area of the sheet to less than 30%.

  • Patent number: 4759581
Abstract: A combined privacy and sunshade for the windshield and dashboard protection for a vehicle. There is an upper sheet of a flexible material sized and shaped to fit over a horizontal portion of the windshield and having a central portion capable of passing at least but only a portion of light incident thereon therethrough. There is also a lower sheet of opaque flexible material permanently or removably hingedly attached to a bottom edge of the upper sheet and a mirror image of the upper sheet. When the upper sheet is positioned over a portion of the windshield, the lower sheet is hingedly movable between a privacy position covering the upper sheet and a dashboard protecting position covering a portion of the dashboard. Touch fastener material is employed for releasably attaching the upper sheet to the windshield and for releasably attaching the lower sheet to the upper sheet when the lower sheet is raised to the privacy position.
