  • Patent number: 10507037
Abstract: A catheter for performing a procedure at a treatment site in the lumen of a blood vessel. The catheter includes an elongate tubular shaft having a proximal bend, a distal bend and a hinge element. A distal portion of the shaft includes a window extending through the sidewall of the shaft between the hinge element and the distal end of the elongate tubular shaft. A working element is disposed within the lumen of the elongate tubular shaft and is configured for performing the procedure through the window at the treatment site. The bends and hinge element are configured to urge the window against a wall of the vessel at the treatment site.

  • Patent number: 9060773
Abstract: The various embodiments simplify the delivery of an occlusive implant to a hollow anatomical structure, such as a fallopian tube. For example, the delivery devices don't need to be retracted manually to deploy the implant. When the devices are activated, stored energy or a powered drive member induces movement of the various components. The operator need only position the distal ends of the devices at the treatment site and then commence deployment by, for example, flipping a switch or changing the position of an activation button. The present embodiments thus increase the efficacy of occlusion procedures by reducing the likelihood of operator error.

  • Publication number: 20150094713
Abstract: Systems and methods for preventing contamination of a sterile field during a treatment procedure. In some embodiments, a treatment apparatus is configured to occupy the sterile field, and a power cable is configured to remain outside the sterile field. The treatment apparatus is connectable to the power cable via an attraction, such as a magnetic attraction, between the treatment apparatus and the power cable, so that an operator within the sterile field need not touch the power cable in order to couple the treatment apparatus to the power cable. Instead, the operator need only grasp the sterile treatment apparatus and bring it in close proximity to the power cable. The attraction then causes the treatment apparatus to couple with the power cable. In this manner, the treatment apparatus can be coupled to the power cable by a single operator without contaminating the sterile field.

  • Patent number: 7621874
Abstract: The systems and methods described herein provide for the improved three-dimensional imaging of the an internal body lumen of a living being. A medical imaging system is provided which can include an image processing system and a medical imaging device. The medical imaging device can be insertable into the internal lumen and can include an image acquisition system configured to image the lumen and detect the position and orientation of the image acquisition system within the lumen. The image acquisition system can output the image, position and orientation data to the image processing system to be used by the processing system to generate and display a virtual three-dimensional image of the internal lumen to the user. The user can use various software tools provided by the image processing system, such as distance and area measuring tools, to interact with the image.
