  • Publication number: 20240127814
Abstract: Devices, systems and processes for a dynamic microphone system that enhances the passenger experience in autonomous vehicles are described. One example method for enhancing a passenger experiences includes generating, using an artificial intelligence algorithm, a plurality of filters based on a plurality of stored waveforms previously recorded by each of one or more passengers and a plurality of recordings of one or more noise sources, capturing voice commands from at least one of the one or more passengers inside the autonomous vehicle, generating voice commands with reduced distortion based on processing the voice commands using the plurality of filters, and instructing, based on the voice commands with reduced distortion, the autonomous vehicle to perform one or more actions.

  • Patent number: 11938896
Abstract: Devices, systems and processes for the detection of unsafe cabin conditions that provides a safer passenger experience in autonomous vehicles are described. One example method for enhancing passenger safety includes capturing at least a set of images of one or more passengers in the vehicle, determining, based on the set of images, the occurrence of an unsafe activity in an interior of the vehicle, performing, using a neural network, a classification of the unsafe activity, and performing, based on the classification, one or more responsive actions.

  • Patent number: 11930329
Abstract: Method and devices for testing a headphone with increased sensation are provided. The headphone can filter and amplify low frequency audio signals, which are then sent to a haptic device in the headphone. The haptic device can cause bass sensations at the top of the skull and at both ear cups. The testing system can evaluate the haptic and acoustic sensations produced by the headphone to evaluate if they have been properly assembled and calibrate the headphones if necessary.

  • Publication number: 20240077724
Abstract: Method and devices for creating a sedentary virtual-reality system are provided. A user interface is provided that allows for the intuitive navigation of the sedentary virtual-reality system based on the position of the users head. The sedentary virtual-reality system can render a desktop computing environment. The user can switch the virtual-reality system into an augmented reality viewing mode or a real-world viewing mode that allow the user to control and manipulate the rendered sedentary environment. The modes can also change to allow the user greater situational awareness and a longer duration of use.

  • Publication number: 20050283096
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting swallowing activity is provided. In an embodiment, a method includes receiving an electronic signal from an accelerometer that represents swallowing activity, extracting at least two features from the signal, classifying the signal as a type of swallowing activity based on the extracted features, and generating an output of the classification. Exemplary activities include swallows, aspirations, movement and vocal artifacts. By indicating whether an activity is a swallow or an aspiration, the manner in which a patient afflicted with an increased likelihood for aspirations is fed can be adjusted to increase the likelihood of achieving a swallow instead of an aspiration during feeding. In turn this could reduce hospitalizations for aspiration pneumonia in patients with acute or chronic injury.

  • Patent number: 6608040
Abstract: Biocompatible cross-linked materials, suitable for use in implants, wound dressings, and blood substitutes, are described. The materials are prepared by cross-linking biological substances, such as collagen, chitosan, or hemoglobin, with genipin, a naturally occurring cross-linking agent. The cross-linking agent has much lower toxicity than conventionally used reagents, and the cross-linked products have good thermal and mechanical stability as well as biocompatibility.
