  • Patent number: 7111489
Abstract: An electrical diagnostic tool for in situ testing of a tone wheel sensor mounted in proximity of a rotatable tone wheel. The tone wheel sensor produces a periodic pulse train signal as the rotatable tone wheel is rotated. The tool has a signal conditioning block for receiving the periodic pulse train signal and generating therefrom a logic-level signal having a frequency. A digital counter has a plurality of outputs and is clocked by the logic-level signal. A plurality of LEDs controlled by the digital counter are used to determine the operational condition of the tone wheel sensor by sequentially illuminating the LEDs at the frequency and in accordance with a counting sequence of the digital counter.

  • Patent number: 6037779
Abstract: A communication bus test tool for motor vehicles having a plurality of electronic modules connected to a common communication bus in a body controller by a wiring harness. The wiring harness has an individual bus signal wire for the bus signal for each electronic module and at least one connector for connecting to a corresponding connector of the body controller. The wiring harness's connector has an individual terminal connected to each individual bus signal wire and the body controller's connector has terminals corresponding to the wiring harness' connector terminals. The bus test tool has a first connector for connecting to the wiring harness's connector with individual terminals corresponding to the individual terminals in the wiring harness connector including individual bus terminals corresponding to the terminals in the wiring harness connector connected to the bus signal wires.

  • Patent number: 5257962
Abstract: A north-south transaxle includes a case having a first passageway extending longitudinally and a second passageway spaced from the first passageway and being generally parallel to the first passageway and extending longitudinally. The transaxle also includes a transmission assembly disposed in the first passageway and having a first shaft portion extending through the first passageway at one end thereof and a transfer assembly disposed in the second passageway and having a second shaft portion extending through the second passageway at one end thereof. The transaxle includes first and second sprocket wheels disposed about the first and second shaft portions, respectively, a chain disposed about the first and second sprocket wheels and a snubber located on tension side of the chain for a dampening vibrations or excursions in the chain.
