Abstract: A content-generic platform may provide online content-specific services via primitives. One of the primitives can be an economic recommendation primitive for user-recommendation of the geographically partitioned content. The economic recommendation primitive may include economic recommendation models for user-recommendation of the geographically partitioned content.

Abstract: In one example implementation computer executable instructions are executed to provide an application program interface (API) to an online resource search system. The instructions are executed to receive a get recommendation (get rec) web enabled function call from a client network node to get recommendation information ordered by at least one of similarity, popularity, and distance. The function call can include a geographic location identifier, a radius identifier, a tag identifier, an item identifier, a global or local search flag, and a user identifier as parameters. The instructions can be executed to respond to the getrec function call by returning a number of recommendations, a number of uses, and a set of tags.

Abstract: A subset of identifiers for resources is selected from a collection of identifiers for resources based on values associated with the different identifiers. Pairwise similarity scores between different pairs of identifiers in the subset then are computed. Based on these computed pairwise similarity scores, another subset of identifiers is identified from within the initial subset of identifiers as corresponding to resources perceived as potentially being of interest to a user for recommendation to the user.
