  • Publication number: 20070274240
Abstract: The invention relates to a wireless network comprising at least two terminals which each contain a UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) software component and a UPnP controller software component. According to the invention, the UPnP controller software component of a terminal forwards specific messages from the associated UPnP software component to subordinate software components only following a change in the network topology.

  • Publication number: 20070174409
Abstract: The invention relates to networks having at least one slave terminal or device, and a master terminal or device connected thereto that controls the network and is arranged to instruct at least one slave terminal or device to exchange sub-network information with at least one other sub-network. On receipt of an inquiry, a slave terminal or device in another sub-networks transmits a response to the inquiring slave terminal or device in the first sub-network. The communicating slave terminals or devices pass on the sub-network information that is exchanged to the master terminal or device, for the responding sub-network to be merged into the inquiring sub network.

  • Publication number: 20060253559
Abstract: A searching apparatus is put into the position of identifying the available apparatuses and services in its proximity in that an apparatus to be discovered periodically separates itself from its Access Point and builds up its own Ad hoc Network (AHN) which can be recognized via its Service Set Identifier (SSID) by the searching apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20060176207
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic operating system comprising at least one functional apparatus (10) and at least one remote control unit (11). To implement the possibilities of interaction in a more intensive, yet more user-friendly way, the remote control unit (11) and the functional apparatus (10) co-operate with each other by means of automatic intercommunication in such a way that, at any instant during interaction with the operating system, exactly those interaction possibilities that correspond to the user's readiness for interaction can be indicated and offered for demand to the user.

  • Publication number: 20060170875
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of giving a presentation on a wireless projector (1) from a mobile device (3). If the mobile device (3) has access to a company's internal network (6), a wireless communications connection is made to the projector (1) over this network (6), thus enabling access to be gained to the data present there. If on the other hand the mobile device (3) belongs to a visitor who does not have access to the network (6), only an ad-hoc connection is made between the device (3) and the projector (1) without the network (6) being involved.

  • Publication number: 20060120301
Abstract: The invention relates to a network having at least one slave terminal and a master terminal that is connected thereto and that is provided for charging at least one slave terminal with requests to search for at least one other terminal to be incorporated in the network. After receiving a request, a non-incorporated terminal transmits a response to the requesting slave terminal and the requesting slave terminal forwards the response to the master terminal.

  • Publication number: 20060052125
Abstract: The invention relates to a network having at least one slave terminal (7-10) and a master terminal (6) that is connected thereto that is provided for instructing at least one slave terminal (7) to check for inquiries from at least one other terminal (11) to be incorporated in the network. The instructed slave terminal (7) following detection of an as yet non-incorporated terminal (11) forwards the received inquiry to the master terminal. Upon receipt of the inquiry from the slave terminal, the master terminal sets up a connection with the as yet non-incorporated terminal. In an embodiment, the master terminal (6) sets up the connection by emitting an inquiry and paging the new slave terminal (11).

  • Publication number: 20050270430
Abstract: A method and a system for displaying images, and an image display apparatus for use thereof are described. An image display apparatus, for example, a projector (12) is controlled by a mobile apparatus, for example, a PDA (14) in such a way that the image display apparatus (12) generates images, preferably a presentation file, for example, in PowerPoint format and reproduces and displays the corresponding images. A representation of a displayed image is transmitted to the mobile apparatus (14) in which it is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20050220046
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of operating a network of a plurality of communication apparatuses (1, 2, 5 to 8) and particularly to a method of operating an ad hoc network between Bluetooth apparatuses. A token (3, 9 to 12, 15), in which the apparatus address of the associated apparatus is stored, is assigned to a plurality of communication apparatuses (1, 2, 5 to 8). At least one communication apparatus is used as a token read apparatus (4, 13 and 14) so as to read the apparatus address of a first communication apparatus (1), stored in the token (3, 9 to 12, 15). The token read apparatus (4, 13 and 14) builds up a connection with the first communication apparatus (1) by means of the apparatus address, and/or the apparatus address is transmitted by the token read apparatus (4, 13 and 14) to at least a second communication apparatus (2). The second communication apparatus (2) can then build up a connection with the first communication apparatus (1).

  • Patent number: 6859142
Abstract: Theft protection of electronic apparatuses connected to a bus system is implemented in a manner particularly suitable for use in a digital home network based on the IEEE 1394 standard. At least one of the apparatuses in the network is equipped with a monitoring unit switchable between an activated and a de-activated state. In the activated state, the monitoring unit monitors the occurrence of a bus reset which is generated particularly upon removal of an apparatus from the network. After occurrence of such a reset, the monitoring unit compares the list of all apparatuses on the bus with a list generated and stored before the reset. When determining differences, an alarm is triggered which can be reproduced particularly by means of the apparatuses which are present, such as, for example, televisions and hi-fi equipment.

  • Publication number: 20030083044
Abstract: The invention relates to a security system for portable devices (1 to 3). The security system consists of at least one portable transmitter unit (5), at least one portable receiver unit (6) and a reaction unit (7). The transmitter unit (5) regularly transmits a signal which is regularly received by the receiver unit (6) within a range of the signal. If the receiver unit (6) does not receive a signal, the reaction unit (7) generates a warning signal and/or activates a blocking mode, which renders a portable device to be protected (1 to 3) unusable.

  • Publication number: 20030034890
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for theft protection of electronic apparatuses connected to a bus system. The method is particularly suitable for use in a digital home network based on an IEEE 1394 standard. In the method, at least one of the apparatuses in the network is equipped with a monitoring unit which can be switched between an activated and a de-activated state. In the activated state, the monitoring unit monitors the occurrence of a bus reset which is generated particularly when removing an apparatus from the network. After the occurrence of such a reset, the monitoring unit compares the list of all apparatuses on the bus with a list generated and stored before the reset. • Patent number: 5774539
Abstract: A communication system includes subscriber terminals which can be coupled via at least one switch, and to which subscriber terminals, several call numbers can be assigned for which telecommunication parameters are definable. The subscriber terminals each store respective telecommunication parameters. In the case of a change of assignment of a subscriber call number from a first subscriber terminal to a second subscriber terminal, the telecommunication parameters belonging to the subscriber call number are transmitted to the second subscriber terminal. The communication system is preferably implemented in ISDN switching systems with ISDN telephones as terminals.
