  • Publication number: 20120155991
Abstract: A method and a device for pressing a book block over the rounded back of a book block having a longitudinal axis extending in the center and along the back. The book block is clamped between two clamping jaws of a clamping device, in a region adjacent to the back of the book block, parallel to the longitudinal axis of the back. A pressing device presses a pressing member against the back, wherein the pressing member is placed approximately in the center of the back onto the book block back. At least a section of the pressing member is then moved across the back. Once the pressing member, which is oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis of the back, is placed onto the back it then moves along at least one continuously preselected movement path over the back.

  • Publication number: 20120045294
Abstract: A method and a device for casing a book block in a book cover, in which the book block is supplied to a casing-in machine in a first feed direction, taken over by the casing-in machine from a saddle plate of an endless conveyor, and glued as it is transported on the saddle plate. The book covers are supplied in a second feed direction. The book block is supplied to the casing-in machine in a feed direction different from the second feed direction of the book cover. In a first step, the book block is handed over from a first feeder to a transfer device located in a first, upstream position, is transported in a second step from the first position to a second, downstream position of the transfer device, and, in a third step, is picked up by the saddle plate from the second position of the transfer device.

  • Publication number: 20110176890
Abstract: A device for forming the outstretched, horizontally positioned spine of the case of a book, which is extended uniformly over, and aligned with, the spine of a book block, and which possibly has an inlay such as schrenz paper. The device includes a forming tool, which can be moved toward the inside surface of the spine of the case, i.e., the surface which faces the spine of the book block, lifts the case spine up between two lateral, opposing creasing rails, and produces at least a rounded or flat web on the spine between the book covers of the case. The forming tool is mounted on a rotatable frame having an axis of rotation which is parallel to the creasing rails.

  • Publication number: 20110052347
Abstract: A device is provided to shape a spine of a book casing positioned horizontally spread out flat and oriented to be distributed evenly over a spine of a book block. Two fold-shaping rails are arranged extending in a direction parallel to one another. A movable, shaping tool is arranged to face the inside of the book casing spine to shape a web on the book casing spine with the aid of the two fold-shaping rails. The shaping tool includes two spaced-apart support bars that extend parallel to the fold-shaping rails and are arranged to be adjustable so that together they adjust the web width of the book casing spine in a direction transverse to the direction of extension of the fold-shaping rails.

  • Publication number: 20110013148
Abstract: A device and method are disclosed for the pre-operative selection and determination of a position of an endoprosthesis using a first rear projection screen with variable opacity and a movable second rear projection screen located in front of the first projection screen in respect of rear projection. In at least one embodiment, the device also includes a first projection unit for generating at least one first projection of the region of a subject in which an endoprosthesis is to be fitted, onto the first rear projection screen, and a second projection unit for generating at least one second projection of the endoprosthesis onto the second rear projection screen, the scaling of the first and second projection being identical. In an alternative embodiment, the second rear projection screen can be omitted. At least one embodiment of the invention offers the advantage that fitting can take place in any anatomical slice planes and that the experience of users of an X-ray film/template technique can be applied.

  • Publication number: 20110014011
Abstract: A device for deforming a book back cover aligned approximately uniformly distributed on a book back, possibly a book cover back having a back insert of a horizontally stretched out positionable book cover, composed of a deforming saddle which can be pushed forward onto the downwardly directed inner side of the book cover, wherein the book cover back is producing a rounded portion of the round cover back located opposite the folding rails between two laterally opposing fold shaping rails which produce a rounded portion of the book cover back, wherein the deforming saddle is formed by two laterally downwardly directed saddle blades formed by the saddle blades which lift the book cover back during the deformation, wherein for adjusting the rounding of the book cover back the saddle blades are together pivotably constructed about an axis extending parallel to the book cover back.

  • Publication number: 20100036879
Abstract: In a method for storing and providing medical image data in a distributed, computer-based system of a clinical facility comprising multiple satellites, wherein a satellite has at least one modality, an image administration server and at least one local database, and wherein the clinical facility also has a central database for the administration of the stored image data and a central long-term storage for long-term storage, the image data are acquired at the modality, the image data include metadata and pixel data, partial metadata in the metadata of the acquired image data are marked, at least the metadata of the image data acquired are locally stored at the respective satellites, the image data of the image data acquired at the respective satellites are centrally stored in the central long-term storage, all metadata stored in the local database in the central database are completely, centrally replicated, and the marked partial metadata of the image data from the central database are partially, automaticall
