    Abstract: An adjustable vehicular steering column utilizing telescopic support members, which are not coaxial with respect to the steering column, permitting infinite adjustment between predetermined limits. A releasably engageable locking mechanism is provided to apply a clamping force on the telescopic support members when the steering wheel is properly positioned by the vehicle operator. An auxiliary locking mechanism is provided as a safeguard in case the main locking mechanism fails.
