  • Patent number: 8453626
Abstract: An arrangement for mixing a first and a second gas flow, for example, an inlet flow with an exhaust gas return flow in a diesel engine. An air conduit has an inlet for the first flow and an inlet for the second flow, in order to achieve the mixing. A valve body is arranged to be displaced in the longitudinal direction of the air conduit at the inlet for the second flow in order to achieve a variable venturi effect and in this way a variable suction effect and mixture of the mixed flow. • Patent number: 8167331
Abstract: The present invention relates to a spring cartridge for a ski binding, wherein the ski binding has a rotatable front binding part for attachment of a ski boot, and is in particular a telemark ski binding. In the binding the spring cartridge provides tension to a biasing cable which biases the rotatable front binding part, so as to rotate the front binding part so that an attached ski boot would be brought into contact with the ski to which the ski binding is attached. The spring cartridge comprises an extended hollow housing open at both ends, a compression spring held within the extended hollow housing and a pressure stub held partly within the compression spring. The pressure stub is structured with an extended portion having a cross dimension smaller than the interior size of the compression spring and a head having a larger size than the interior size of the compression spring.

  • Publication number: 20100229537
Abstract: A system for venting crankcase emissions from an engine is disclosed generally comprising a crankcase emissions conduit that communicates blow-by gases from the crankcase into the exhaust flow of an exhaust conduit, which includes a venturi, via an inlet located upstream of the minimum inner diameter of the venturi in order to pump the crankcase emissions therethrough. In certain embodiments, the gases are then directed to a filter assembly, which may include a particulate filter and may include a catalyst for facilitating redox of harmful substances to create harmless compounds prior to venting them or recirculating them in the system. In certain advantageous embodiments, an auxiliary oxygen supply is provided to facilitate these burning processes.

  • Patent number: 7543600
Abstract: A system for mixing a first gas flow and a second gas flow includes a conduit defined by a wall for communicating the first gas flow therethrough, an inlet passing through the wall of the conduit for introducing the second gas flow into the conduit, and a valve body disposed within the conduit, the valve body being displaceable in a longitudinal direction with respect to the conduit at the inlet. The conduit includes a bend downstream of the body with respect to a direction of the mixed gas flow. A holder is operably connected at a first end thereof to a downstream end of the valve body, the holder passing through a bore in the wall of the conduit at the bend. An actuator is operably connected to a second end of the holder, the actuator causing, via the holder, the valve body to be displaced in the longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 7492217
Abstract: A multiple-channel audio processor (10) and an associated plurality of power stages (22) in an audio system are disclosed. The audio processor (10) includes a plurality of audio amplifier channels (22), each of which includes a pulse-code-modulation (PCM) to pulse-width-modulation (PWM) conversion function (25), which generates PWM signals for application to the plurality of power stages (22). The audio amplifier channels (20) each also include an interchannel delay function (28) for delaying the PWM edges relative to other channels (20), for reducing noise. The audio amplifier channels (20) each also include delay adjust circuitry (32) for gradually increasing and decreasing the interchannel delay of the channel (20) on startup and shutdown. This permits a single control terminal (VALID) at the processor to globally enable and disable all of the power stages (22).

  • Patent number: 7279965
Abstract: An audio system includes a switch mode amplifier that provides an output signal at an output for driving a load based on at least one control signal. A control system provides the at least one control signal to control the amplifier according to an operating mode of the audio system. In a first mode, the control system providing the at least one control signal to actively control an equivalent output impedance at the output of the amplifier, gradually adjusting the equivalent output impedance from a high-impedance state to a low impedance state, so as to mitigate a voltage drop across the load (e.g., including one or more speakers) when the amplifier is activated to a second mode corresponding to the low impedance state.
