  • Patent number: 7300790
Abstract: The present invention relates to non-vaccinal and non-pharmacologic compositions and methods for controlling complex retroviral infections. In particular, the present invention provides transgenic animals expressing a transdominant negative Rex gene product that inhibits retroviral replication.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 23, 2004
Date of Patent: November 27, 2007
    Assignee: ioGenetics, LLC

  • Publication number: 20070222165
Abstract: A multi-wheel hub assembly comprises a central hub and at least three wheels rotatably attached to the central hub. The central hub is configured for being rotatably attached to a support assembly. The central hub includes a mounting structure defining a rotational axis about which the central hub is rotatable when attached to a mounting member of the frame assembly. Each one of the wheels is approximately a common radial distance from the rotational axis of the central hub. Each one of the wheels is approximately evenly spaced with respect to each adjacent one of the wheels. A rotational axis of each one of the wheels extends generally parallel with the rotational axis of the central hub.

  • Patent number: 5348075
Abstract: In the manufacture of thin metal slab, a workpiece is cast in a continuous casting mould but, while still connected to the part within the mould, the workpiece is treated differently across its width to produce slab of a different width from the east workpiece and of uniform cross-section. The treatment may be rolling or forging.

  • Patent number: 4809528
Abstract: A multi-stand hot strip rolling mill has a pinch roll assembly downstream of the last stand and before the coiler and a shapemeter roll is located between the last stand and the pinch roll assembly so as to engage with the strip.

  • Patent number: 4466574
Abstract: Apparatus for supplying a coherent curtain of cooling liquid comprises a generally rectangular nozzle with an inlet and an outlet, the nozzle being divided into a multiplicity of individual passages extending in the direction between the inlet and the outlet, a header for introducing liquid coolant to the inlet of the nozzle and a slider displaceable beneath the passages to close off those above the slider and a body carried at the inwards end of the slider providing further passages constituting extensions to those above them and the outer ones of the further passages are inclined outwardly to cause the curtain to diverge as it leaves the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4403492
Abstract: For performing interstand cooling in a tandem rolling mill, at least one of the stands (12, 13) has delivery guides (17, 18) which incorporate equipment for delivering coherent, non-turbulent, curtains of coolant on to the faces of the strip rolled by that stand. The equipment for each guide (17, 18) consists of a coolant manifold (25, 32) formed within the guide structure and a communicating curtain-discharging nozzle (30, 36) which is recessed in the guide plate (21, 22) and which extends over almost the entire length of the guide. The manifold (25, 32) is supplied with coolant through pipes (26).

  • Patent number: 4379396
Abstract: A multi-stand rolling mill is operated so that strip of suitable shape and metallurgical properties is produced at a faster speed than possible heretofore by threading the mill at a relatively slow speed and adjusting the rolling loads on the stands to give the required output gauge and rolling temperature at the last stand, thereafter the mill is accelerated and curtains of liquid coolant are applied to the workpiece at one or more interstand locations to ensure that the rolling loads remain substantially the same as when threading and the rolling temperature of the last stand remains substantially constant.
