Patent number: 7885416Abstract: If a hearing device user has become accustomed to the tone of a hearing device, it is difficult for him to change over to a new hearing device, since this normally possesses a different tone. Therefore, given a treatment with a second or subsequent device, the settings of the old hearing device can be acquired with a computer-controlled event and be considered in a first adjustment given the adaptation of the new hearing device. The new setting then results from the audiometric measurements, the data of the previous device, and if necessary further data. The tone of the new device is thus approximated to the old device.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2004Date of Patent: February 8, 2011Assignee: Siemens Audiologische Technik GmbHInventors: Josef Chalupper, Matthias Fröhlich, Thomas Hopf, Reinier Kortekaas, Kristin Rohrseitz, Christian Weistenhöfer

Patent number: 7662167Abstract: The invention relates to a medical instrument with a hollow shaft, a handle, and a tool, where at least one jaw member of the tool can be rotated in relation to the at least one other jaw member of the tool for purposes of opening and closing by means of one rotatably configured gripping member of the handle, and the rotatable jaw member and the gripping member of the handle that serves to rotate are connected to one another by means of a push pin installed in the hollow shaft. To create a simple construction ensuring the best possible power transmission along with a good cutting sensation for the operator, a rigid casing can be inserted into the push pin, at least partly in form-locking connection, which casing in turn can be inserted, at least partly in form-locking connection, into the hollow shaft and the push pin is mounted in the casing so that it is at least partly rotation-resistant.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2003Date of Patent: February 16, 2010Assignee: Karl Storz GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Dieter Lang, Thomas Hopf

Patent number: 7610798Abstract: A method for the determination of combustion misfires in an internal combustion engine having a plurality of cylinders, there being provision, for determining at least two successive compression times and expansion times for at least one cylinder of the internal combustion engine, for the determination of combustion misfires a comparison of the change in the compression times with the change in the expansion times being carried out, and the result of the comparison being a measure of a combustion misfire.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1997Date of Patent: November 3, 2009Assignee: Mannesmann VDO AGInventors: Thomas Hopf, Ulrich Staufenberg

Patent number: 7324650Abstract: The correct recognition of the auditory situation “television” often poses a problem for hearing aid devices with automatic situation recognition, since a plurality of real situations are simulated by the television audio signal. To correctly recognize the situation “television”, the invention therefore provides to detect a line signal with a particular line signal frequency output by the television device, and given the existence of such a line signal to automatically implement the auditory situation “television”.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2003Date of Patent: January 29, 2008Assignee: Siemens Audiologische Technik GmbHInventors: Eghart Fischer, Volkmar Hamacher, Thomas Hies, Thomas Hopf, Frank Wagner

Patent number: 7211099Abstract: The invention relates to a medical instrument, comprising a shaft, the proximal end of which has a handle, with at least two grip pieces and the distal end of which has a tool, with at least two jaw pieces, whereby at least one jaw piece of the tool may be adjusted relative to the at least one other jaw piece for opening and closing, by means a grip piece on the handle, embodied so as to pivot. Each adjustable jaw piece and the corresponding grip piece in the handle, for adjusting the jaw piece, are connected to each other, by means of a pull-/push-rod and each adjustable jaw piece is connected to the pull-/push-rod, by means of a compensation lever. According to the invention, the best possible force transfer with a good cutting feel for the operator may be achieved, whereby the compensation lever is pivotably fixed on one end to the pull-/push-rod and displaceably mounted at the other end in a guide groove, formed in the adjustable jaw piece.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2003Date of Patent: May 1, 2007Assignee: Karl Storz GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Dieter Lang, Thomas Hopf

Patent number: 6025655Abstract: A control system, particularly for a motor vehicle, having at least one control device which, in order to produce control parameters, is connected with a timer circuit for the production of a time parameter. In order to provide a control system in which a timer signal is available at all times, without the voltage supply system of the motor vehicle being under load when the engine is turned off, the timer circuit is located outside the control device.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1997Date of Patent: February 15, 2000Assignee: Mannesmann VDO AGInventor: Thomas Hopf
