  • Patent number: 7300237
Abstract: A bolted fastener for joining components, such as a bracket fastened to a crosspiece, includes a bolt, a nut and an eccentric. A square neck of a bolt fits into an oblong hole in a component and prevents the bolt from turning. The diameter of the eccentric that serves as a wedging means fits into the slightly larger diameter of the receptacle hole, allowing the eccentric to fit into the receptacle hole. When the nut is screwed on the bolt, the eccentric rotates about the bolt and, on account of its eccentricity, wedges itself within the receptacle hole. The wedged eccentric prevents accidental loosening or accidental unscrewing of the nut.

  • Patent number: 7296672
Abstract: A wheel for driving a flexible handrail of an escalator or moving walk. The wheel has a power transmission element that can be turned about an axis of rotation and that has, on its circumference a contact surface through which an outwardly acting radial force can be exerted. The wheel also has two base sheaves that are arranged coaxially to the power transmission element. Each base sheave has a plurality of slits that are arranged in the outer edge area of the base sheave and extend toward the axis of rotation. The slits of one base sheave form, with the slits of the other base sheave, slit pairs. The wheel has a circumferential cover with an inside surface against which the contact surface of the power transmission element rests. A plurality of pins is arranged in the circumferential cover, each pin engaging a separate respective slit pair.

  • Publication number: 20070205080
Abstract: An escalator with an endless formation of successive steps, each having a step surface, a front surface or step-riser and each side, a sideways directed cheek. Provided in the area of each cheek is at least one roller that projects transversely sideways, and is guided along laterally mounted, diagonally running roller-rails of the escalator. On each step in the area of the front surface or step-riser at least one emergency guide hook is fastened in such manner that the emergency guide hook of a higher lying upper first step supports itself against an area of the cheek of the next lower lying second step, should the step be eccentrically loaded in the area of the step-tread.

  • Patent number: 7264105
Abstract: An escalator has steps has steps that have a step-tread surface with a step-tread edge. Step brushes are arranged on the step-tread edge perpendicularly or vertically. Step brushes may also be arranged on the edge of the step's step-riser edge. The brushes provide a barrier against the entry of objects into the gap between a moving step and the stationery skirt-panel of the escalator.

  • Patent number: 7255217
Abstract: A wheel for driving a flexible handrail of an escalator or moving walk turns about an axis of rotation, and has a tire with a tire cover that may be filled with pressurized gas and a contact surface that is intended to rest against the handrail. The contact surface is formed on a power transmission element that has a reinforcing insert and is accommodated in a peripheral recess of the tire cover.

  • Patent number: 7243775
Abstract: A handrail for an escalator or moving walk that has a fixed guide device and a handrail body that moves along the guide device when in operation is disclosed. The guide device has a form-giving guide section that contains a lip-guide that extends along a longitudinal direction of the guide section. The handrail body is strip-shaped and has two edge-lips that extend along two longitudinal edges of the strip-shaped handrail body. The edge-lips are formed in such manner that they run parallel to the longitudinal direction when the handrail body moves in the lip guide. The guide section essentially defines the form of the handrail in both the direction parallel to the longitudinal direction and in a cross-sectional plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 7234583
Abstract: An improved escalator or moving walk construction, head elements are pre-assembled as a sub-assembly which is subsequently mounted on the truss of the escalator. The sub-assembly includes comb plate holders, one on each side, which carry a comb plate. The comb plate holder may have a C-shaped profile and may be reinforced by stiffening ribs so as to be able to bear the weight of the end-curve of a balustrade. By means of supports arranged on the truss, the height of the comb plate carrier can be adjusted to that of the truss. During pre-assembly, and until after final mounting on the truss, the comb plate serves as a connecting element between comb plate holders.

  • Patent number: 7204361
Abstract: An escalator with steps having a tread surface and riser surface has riser brushes arranged at the riser surface. The riser brushes provide a barrier for the gap which is normally present between the tread surface of a first step and the riser surface of an adjacent step. The riser brushes may be mounted to a brush strip which is guided along the riser as the steps transfer between vertical and horizontal travel.

  • Publication number: 20070029161
Abstract: A compactly constructed guide system has a run surface for guiding the run of the chain rollers. To guide the sides of the steps, a sliding pin arranged on a step rests on a side surface. A counter-surface serves as a counter-guide for the chain rollers and prevents the chain links from being pushed together. By means of an encapsulation, the step rollers, the chain links, and the running surface can be protected from dirt, dust, water, objects, etc. For run guidance of the step roller, a running surface is provided. An oil collecting channel prevents dripping of lubricating oil. The guide system rests on a bracket plate projection and is releasably connected to the bracket plate. The single-piece guide system is simple and efficient to install and can be accurately positioned at the sides against stops.

  • Publication number: 20060272924
Abstract: A wheel for driving a flexible handrail of an escalator or moving walk. The wheel can be turned about an axis of rotation and has a readily elastically deformable layer. The readily elastically deformable layer is formed by a body that is stable in form when free of stress. Arranged adjacent to an inner circumferential surface of the readily elastically deformable layer is an inner layer that is stiffer than the readily elastically deformable layer. Adjacent to an outer circumferential surface of the readily elastically deformable layer is an outer layer that is intended to rest against the handrail under static friction. Respective adjacent layers are coupled to each other in non-rotating manner.
