    Abstract: A cantilever bracket assembly for attaching horizontal components to a side of a vertical wall. The bracket assembly comprising a bracket member and a support member having a rear portion adapted to releasably engage the wall and a substantially vertical web attached to the rear portion. The web has a first and second side and a top edge. A plurality of upwardly extending tab members are attached to one of the bracket member and the web, wherein the tab members are laterally offset from at least one of the first and second sides of the web when attached to the web. The bracket member is provided with a top portion adapted to engage the horizontal component. The bracket member has one of a plurality of hanger members and tab members adapted to receive the other of plurality of tab members and hanger members attached to the web. The bracket member is mounted on the support bracket by disposing the tab members in the hanger members.

    Abstract: An operational guide mounted to an adjustable chair as well as a chair including an operational guide. The operational guide includes a card having a pictorial guide for operating the adjustable chair located on the top side of the card. The operational guide also includes a device for mounting the card to the bottom of the seat of the chair. The mounting device is adapted to allow the card to move between an extended position wherein the pictorial guide is visible to an occupant of the chair and a retracted position wherein the pictorial guide is not visible to the occupant of the chair. Also, the mounting device holds the card so that the orientation of the pictorial guide corresponds to the orientation of the controls for adjusting the chair when the card is in the extended position.

    Abstract: The invention is a furniture system and method for distributing and managing cabling through a work space and assisting in facility space planning. The system includes a plurality of free-standing horizontal cable housing units which are aligned end to end, either in a straight line or at an angle. Each of these horizontal housing units includes a top, a bottom, and two sidewalls which together define a hollow chamber open at both ends. At least one of the sidewalls is easily demountable to provide access to the hollow chamber of the housing unit. The system further includes a first raceway for electrical power cabling mounted within the hollow chamber, and a second raceway for communication cabling mounted within the hollow chamber.

    Abstract: Office furniture includes a number of individual furniture components all incorporating the same basic constructional details and ornamentation and which articles of furniture may be selectively associated with one another to form selective furniture ensembles which can provide a complete work area. One feature of the invention is to provide a furniture top which has notched edges which selectively receive a corresponding end of another article of furniture so as to interlock several articles of furniture into a furniture ensemble in a manner to resist relative movement. In addition, certain edges of furniture tops are notched and have a straight vertical edge to indicate a functional component such as a pull-out pedestal drawer or a cabinet area with edges of the tops being arcuately convexly downwardly curved for user interface. The individual components include desks, credenzas, organizers, returns and storage columns.

The desk top (16) includes a pair of second channels (98) extending inwardly from edges (100) of the top (16) adjacent the second channels (56). The first and second channels (56, 98) manage wiring (60) of work accessories (62, 105) supported by the top (16). An apron (20) is mounted to and below the top (16) and comprises third channel (218) in registry with the first channel (56) and also adapted to receive wiring (60) from the second channels (98) through outer and inner slots (114, 116) in the top (16). A work accessory support (222) is removably mountable to the desk (10 ) by a bracket (224) securable to a leg (18) within a first channel (56) on one side of the desk (10).
