Each of the one or more displayed action controls includes properties associated therewith, and the included properties define at least one of the following: a name of the action control, a link of the action control, the group identifier of the action control, and a classification identifier of the action control.

Abstract: A system and method for managing a plurality of messages stored at a mobile communication device, groups messages based on a common subject line or another quasi-unique identifier, and displays message group entries representing distinct message groups in a user interface. The message group entries may be displayed in association with an icon representing multiple message states associated with individual messages comprised within that message group. The multiple message states may include all messages being read, all messages being unread, a most recently received message being unread while others are read, and a most recently received message being read while order messages are unread.

A structured document such as as webpage is rendered (as a first rendered document) for display according to the document object model structure and optionally styles provided with the webpage. The same webpage is rendered (as a second rendered document) by removing or replacing selected objets in the document object model structure, or by applying different style directives than included in the originally received webpage. When the display screen is in a first orientation, the first rendered document is displayed. When a change in orientation of the display screen to the second orientation is detected, the second rendered document is displayed.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for searching a message store on a portable device are described herein. The methods allow a plurality of possible search criteria to be generated and displayed. One or more of the possible search criteria may be selected and added to a search string that is used to search the message store.

Abstract: The present specification provides a method, system and apparatus for posting data to a plurality of accounts at a plurality of remote servers. A display is controlled to generate a message region for receiving message data to be posted to at least a subset of the plurality of accounts. The display is controlled to generate icons, associated with the plurality of accounts, in a one-to-one relationship, the icons provided adjacent to the message region, each icon comprising: a first respective indicator of a respective account; a second respective indicator of a service associated with the account; and a respective picture. When the touchscreen display is in a landscape orientation, at least one taskbar is provided along at least a portion of one or more short edges of the touchscreen display. When the touchscreen display changed to a portrait orientation: the at least one taskbar is moved to a bottom one of the short edges, when no virtual keyboard is provided, the at least one taskbar is moved to a top one of the short edges when the virtual keyboard is provided at the bottom one of the short edges. Hence, ergonomic access is provided to controls most likely to be used when he touchscreen display is held towards the bottom.

Abstract: A method for automatically generating a friend subset from contacts of a user based on future events is provided. Future social events data from an online social network including events to be attended by the user are received. Contacts having identity information from a contact list of the user are identified. Future social events data associated with the identified contacts, including events to be attended by the contacts, are received. Whether the identified contacts are scheduled to attend the same future social events as the user is determined. A friend subset of the determined contacts having future social events corresponding to the future social events of the user is selected and displayed on a web page. The user selects one of the contacts of the displayed friend subset, and the future social events to be attended by both the selected contact and the user is provided to the user.

Abstract: An electronic device and method provide for composition of reply messages within a message listing display. A message listing screen including a message listing and input field is displayed, and while the screen is displayed, content is entered in the input field and a send command is detected. In response to the send command, the entered content is sent in a reply message in reply to a selected message in the message listing. The selected message for which the reply is intended may be identified after the send command is detected. The message listing screen can include a preview of the selected message. The message format for the content to be sent in reply may be selected to be different from the message format of the selected message.
