  • Publication number: 20200133090
Abstract: Optical states in TIR-based image displays may be modulated by movement of electrophoretically mobile particles into and out of the evanescent wave region at the interface of a high refractive index convex protrusions and a low refractive index medium. The movement of particles into the evanescent wave region may frustrate TIR and form dark states at pixels. Movement of particles out of the evanescent wave region may allow for TIR of incident light to form bright states at pixels. The movement of the particles may be controlled by employing the drive methods of pulse width modulation, voltage modulation or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 10386547
Abstract: A textured surface on the inward side of the high refractive index transparent front sheet in a reflective image display may lead to a display with a wider viewing angle. The textured surface may be in a random or a patterned array and may comprise microstructures that exhibit total internal reflection and Fresnel reflections. Electrophoretically mobile particles of similar size to the microstructures may improve coverage on the front sheet and improve frustration of TIR leading to darker dark states.

  • Publication number: 20190146300
Abstract: Brightness in conventional total internal reflection image displays may decrease due to incident light passing through the dark pupil region in the white state. Certain embodiments of the disclosure relate to an enhanced brightness total internal reflection-based image display utilizing a front sheet having an array of modified hemispherical protrusions with a partially light reflective surface. Modifying the structure of the convex protrusions of the transparent front sheet and adding a light reflective layer on specific areas of the protrusions may increase brightness in the white state. Controlling the size, depth and angle of the structure of the convex protrusions may direct incident light by one or more of total internal reflection and specular reflection in a controllable manner to enhance brightness of the display.

  • Patent number: 10085411
Abstract: A pressure control device for a milking machine includes a housing, a vacuum inlet, and two control circuits. Each circuit includes a main vacuum passage extending through the housing from the vacuum inlet to an outlet, and a main valve configured to take one of an open position and a closed position. A pilot passage extends from the main vacuum passage and includes a pilot valve body configured to take one of an open pilot position and a closed pilot position. The pilot passage acts in the open pilot position on the main valve to move to the open position, and permits in the closed pilot position the main valve to move to the closed position. A solenoid controls the pilot valve body. A holding member receives the solenoid and is attached to the housing through a first bayonet coupling.

  • Patent number: 10009837
Abstract: A method performed by a first network node of providing a last used PLMN ID in LTE to a second network node, the first network node and the second network node operating in a wireless communications network. The method comprises providing the last used PLMN ID in LTE of a wireless device in the wireless communications network, to the second network node, as soon as a Circuit Switched, CS, call due to a CSFB procedure has been setup. The providing of the PLMN ID is performed by one of: adding information about the last used PLMN ID in LTE to an existing message from the first network node to the second network node, and defining a new message from the first network node to the second network node. The new message comprises the last used PLMN ID in LTE.

  • Publication number: 20180173074
Abstract: Total internal reflection image displays are equipped with a bistability enhancement particle interaction layer. The bistability enhancement layer imparts bistability in the display at 0V or power off. The bistability enhancement layer may hold particles near the surface in the evanescent wave region at the front electrode at 0V or power off to retain a dark state image. The particle interaction layer may hold particles near the surface of the rear electrode at 0V or power off to retain a bright state image. Control of particle density improves bistability.

  • Patent number: 9344927
Abstract: A method in a user equipment for handling cell selection is provided. While in dedicated mode the user equipment receives from a radio network node a measurement information message which indicates at least two frequencies associated with a respective cell in a respective radio access technology. While it is in dedicated mode, the user equipment performs measurements on the frequencies to obtain a respective measurement value for each one of them, and receives a selection indicator message comprising a respective priority for each one of the frequencies. The user equipment obtains a respective threshold value for each of the frequencies and successively evaluates the frequencies in descending priority order until a frequency is determined for which the measurement value exceeds its respective threshold value. When entering idle mode, the user equipment selects cell based on the evaluation.

  • Patent number: RE47253
Abstract: Illegitimate use of IP addresses is counteracted. A network (1) includes a switch (5) with ports (P1,P2,P3) to subscribers (6,6A) and a port (PN) to a core network (2) with DHCP servers (4, 4a,4b). The switch includes a database (MAC1, MAC2), port numbers (P1, P2) and VLAN identities (VLAN1, VLAN2) for the subscribers (6, 6A) and the filter has a list over trusted DHCP servers. Initially only DHCP messages from the subscribers are allowed. When the subscriber (6) requests (M1, M3) for an IP address it is checked that it is a DHCP message with valid subscriber values (MAC1, P1, VLAN1). A respond (M2, M4) with an allocated IP address (IP1) and lease time interval (T1) is checked to come from a trusted DHCP server. If so, a list in the filter (9) with correct information is dynamically generated (MAC1, P1, VLAN1, IP1, T1). A message (M5) from the subscriber (6) with false IP address is discarded by the filter. Attempts by the subscriber to use false IP address are counted and a warning signal is generated.
