  • Patent number: 11673813
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for producing a magnetic nanoparticle suitable for additive manufacturing techniques includes providing a solution having a plurality of metallic precursors to produce magnetic nanoparticles, a coordinating solvent, and a chelating agent. The solution is mixed and heated to grow nanoparticles wherein magnetic nanoparticles are formed. The solution is then cooled and a magnetic field is applied to the solution wherein ferrite nanoparticles are at least partially separated by size.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 23, 2020
Date of Patent: June 13, 2023
    Assignee: VADIENT OPTICS, LLC
Inventors: Peter G Hugger, Chad N Teters, Thomas L Allen, Ernst Adrian Henle, Peter J Polesnak

  • Patent number: 8724214
Abstract: An optical upconverting nanomaterial includes a nanocrystal, a ligand layer directly bonded to the nanocrystal, and an optical antenna directly or indirectly bonded to the nanocrystal. The nanocrystal includes a transition metal-doped material exhibiting upconversion to optical wavelengths. The transition metal-doped material includes energy transfer facilitating transition metal dopants and (not necessarily distinct) emitter transition metal dopants, where an absorption spectrum of the energy transfer facilitating transition metal dopants overlaps with an emission spectrum of the optical antenna. The optical upconverting nanomaterial has at least one linear dimension (e.g., width or thickness) that is less than 150 nm in extent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 7, 2012
Date of Patent: May 13, 2014
    Assignee: Voxtel, Inc.
Inventors: David M. Schut, Charles G. Dupuy, George M. Williams, Thomas L. Allen

  • Patent number: 7567936
Abstract: An electronic device is configured for use by a user who is a natural person, and has a network port through which the user can access an electronic network. The device can receive through the network port an information request intended for presentation to the user, the information request including a request for an actual identifier associated with the user. The device can respond to the information request in a manner that includes activating within the device a manager portion thereof that facilitates providing the information request with a pseudo identifier in place of the actual identifier.
