  • Publication number: 20070022869
Abstract: A reproduction of a music file is modified for adapting a reproduction of the audio data contained in the music file to the characteristic of a small size loudspeaker on a mobile terminal of a wireless communication system so that the audibility of the respective music or polyphonic sound contained in the music file is improved. For example, audio data which represent a sound with a spectral component below the transmission frequency range of the loudspeaker are identified in the music file, and the reproduction of sound from the identified audio data is modified such that the modified sound reproduction yields a sound spectrum having an increased energy content within the transmission frequency range of the loudspeaker as compared to a sound spectrum of an unmodified reproduction. Related apparatus and computer program products are also discussed.

  • Publication number: 20060272487
Abstract: A method for adapting a score stored in a MIDI file for being reproduced on a mobile terminal to the transfer function of an electroacoustic reproduction circuitry includes test rendering of the score to obtain sampled data prior to a reproduction of the score on the mobile terminal. From these sampled data, one or more values and or combination of values for a desired electroacoustic reproduction on the mobile terminals are identified, and, based on these identified values, one or more parameters suited for adapting the score with respect to the desired or optimised reproduction on the mobile terminal are determined.

  • Publication number: 20060262945
Abstract: A driving circuit selectively operates a hands-free loudspeaker and an earpiece speaker of a mobile terminal. The driving circuit includes a voiceband electronic circuit with a balanced output adapted for being switched between an in-phase and an opposite-phase mode, an interconnection function for connecting the earpiece speaker directly to the balanced output of the voiceband circuit, and an adder circuit for adding signals supplied by each port of the balanced output and for providing the sum-signal to the hands-free loudspeaker.

  • Publication number: 20060153403
Abstract: A control circuit for a signal strength information dependant frequency response adaptation of an audio signal for an electrodynamic transducer, with a signal strength information determinator for determining a signal strength information according to a level of the audio signal, and a frequency modifier for frequency selectively modifying the audio signal in response to the signal strength information. The electrodynamic transducer converts the audio signal into a low distortion sound signal for high levels of an audio signal and has a flat frequency response for low levels of an audio signal. A lower frequency range of the audio signal is modified with a gain that is different to a gain of a higher frequency range of the audio signal. A frequency separating the lower frequency range from the higher frequency range is shifted towards higher values for an increasing level of the audio signal and towards lower values for a decreasing level of the audio signal.

  • Publication number: 20020102960
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sound generating device and a sound generating method for a mobile terminal of a wireless telecommunication system. The sound generating device comprises a memory means (5) for storing waveforms, each waveform corresponding to a sound and each waveform comprising a predetermined number of samples, selecting means (3) for selecting a sound and a pitch for said sound to be generated, calculating means (6) for calculating, on the basis of a preset calculation rule, a sound table from the samples of the waveform of a selected sound, reading means (8) for reading out a part of the samples from the calculated sound table depending on the selected pitch for the sound, and output means (2) for outputting a sound on a basis of said part of samples read out from said reading means. The present invention allows to generate and output periodic signals with the frequencies of musical tones from stored single periods of waveforms.

  • Patent number: 6205091
Abstract: In a solar-powered, radio-controlled timepiece an incorrect display can occur before the operating voltage definitively falls below the switch-off level if each pulse for the electromechanical transducer is no longer sufficient for advancing the display. A step monitor senses such an insufficient pulse and triggers a reset command in order to switch on the radio signal receiver for automatically correcting the hands position to the absolute time which is decoded from the current time telegram.

  • Patent number: 6134188
Abstract: A radio-controlled wristwatch includes a casing, a printed circuit board disposed in the casing, and an antenna disposed in the casing. The antenna includes a core and a coil carried by the core. The core comprises a stack of soft-iron strips stacked in a direction parallel to a plane of the circuit board. The stack is arranged in a curved shape extending along and adjacent to an outer peripheral edge of the circuit board. The core is bonded to a surface of the circuit board and supports the coil within a pocket formed in the circuit board.
