  • Patent number: 11285440
Abstract: A method for reducing pollution in exhaust gases and a system for treating exhaust gas are provided. The method includes the step of treating an exhaust gas stream with a treating fluid. In one application, the treating fluid is injected by spraying droplets into the exhaust gas stream. A system for treating exhaust gas includes a reagent, and a nozzle to spray the reagent into the exhaust gas stream.

  • Patent number: 10759696
Abstract: A method of treating cement kiln fuel includes introducing an additive to a fuel component to form a fuel mixture. The fuel component includes a sulfur-generating combustible fuel and the additive includes a micronized lime component. The method further includes combusting the fuel component within a cement kiln. The sulfur generated by the combustion of the combustible fuel forms calcium-containing sulfur compounds with lime provided by the micronized lime component. The calcium-containing sulfur compounds fall to a bed of clinker forming beneath the flame and some portion thereof may become resident in the clinker.

  • Patent number: 9884311
Abstract: A method for treating powdered activated carbon (PAC) and/or coal combustion residues (CCRs) by heating at least one of a spent PAC and/or a CCR to separate at least one heavy metal from the at least one of the spent PAC and/or the CCR to create a clean stream and a heavy metal stream, combining the heavy metal stream with a water soluble alkaline-earth metal sulfide to create a combined stream, and removing at least a portion of the at least one heavy metal from the combined stream. The heating may further include heating the at least one of the spent PAC and/or the CCR in an inert atmosphere. Further, the combining may include combining the heavy metal stream with the water soluble alkaline-earth metal sulfide and a catalyst and/or a surfactant or hyperdispersant.

  • Patent number: 4604015
Abstract: There is disclosed a mechanism for retaining an automotive radiator rigid, including sleeve members mounted on oppositely disposed portions of the radiator and an interconnecting rod member. Arcuate-shaped edge portions are formed on oppositely disposed portions of the radiator, each of the sleeve members having longitudinal bores formed therethrough and including arcuate-shaped groove bottoms opening in a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve members matching the arcuate-shaped edge portions and being slidably mounted thereon so as to have the bores thereof aligned. A rod is mounted across the radiator and extended through the aligned bores and secured therein by nuts mounted on the threaded ends against the respective sleeves, to thereby rigidify the radiator for use on trucks and off-highway vehicles.

  • Patent number: 4513811
Abstract: A heat exchanger wherein the tubes are connected to the headers by soldering. Specifically, the tubes extend through and a predetermined distance beyond vertically flanged openings in a header. The tubes include vertical slits formed in a spaced relationship in opposite side walls thereof in the end portion which extends beyond the header flanges. The wall portion between the slits is folded in a curled configuration toward the vertical flanges until the edges of the curled wall contact the flanges. Solder is applied by capillary action between the tubes and the inner surfaces of the flanges and in the space between the outer surfaces of the flanges and the curled tube portions.
