  • Publication number: 20040165842
Abstract: A flexible pressure tube includes a pressure tube cladding defining an axis and having an interior space for flow of a pressurized medium. The pressure tube cladding is constructed in the form of a homogeneous layer which is suitable to transmit data encoded in light waves in a direction of the axis, wherein the homogeneous layer is made of a flexible optical waveguide material. The pressure tube may be part of an apparatus for conducting pressurized medium and transmission of data, which apparatus includes a coupling assembly having a coupling unit for connecting one axial end of the flexible pressure tube to a pressurized-medium-operated structure, and another coupling unit for connecting the other axial end of the flexible pressure tube to a pressurized-medium-operated structure. Each of the coupling units is constructed to include a connection for the pressurized medium and an integrated communication device.

  • Patent number: 6688332
Abstract: A multiway valve for controlling a flow of fluid under pressure, includes a valve housing having fluid ports and a plurality of bores in side-by-side parallel disposition substantially at a same level. Each bore is configured for accommodation of a valve spools which are sealed in the bores against the valve housing. The spools have opposite first and second end faces, and include portions of greater diameter and portions of smaller diameter. Acting on the first end face of the spools is an actuation unit for moving the spools in a longitudinal direction to thereby direct a flow of fluid under pressure between the ports, whereas a mechanical coupling mechanism, which is secured to the valve housing, interacts with the second end faces of the spools.

  • Patent number: 6637316
Abstract: A pressure fluid cylinder with anti-rotation feature, includes a cylinder tube of non-circular inner cross section and a piston which is sealingly received in the tube. The piston has a circular cross section and is connected at one end to a piston rod in coaxial relationship. In order to allow selective use of the pressure fluid cylinder with or without anti-rotation feature, an annular adapter is placed between the piston and the tube and has a circular inner surface area to complement a circular outer surface area of the piston so as to allow a relative rotation between the piston and the adapter. The adapter has a non-circular outer surface area to complement the non-circular inner surface area of the tube. Through insertion of a fastener in aligned boreholes of the adapter and the piston, the adapter and the piston are prevented from rotating relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 5819788
Abstract: A base-plate distributing valve comprised of a valve body, a base-plate element and a valve element slidably disposed within a longitudinal bore of the valve body. Pressure medium line ports and pressure medium lines are contained within the valve body and the base-plate element. The base-plate element contains an opening into which the part of the valve body which contains the valve element may be inserted. Within the valve element are valves. A drive element controls the valve element which shifts position the position of the valves within the longitudinal bore of the valve body to permit alignment of the pressure medium lines for flow therethrough. Accordingly, when the valve body is inserted into the base-plate element in a pressure-medium-tight seal, a substantially straight-lined flow of a medium through the base-plate element at a high flow rate is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5054517
Abstract: A one-way restrictor is provided which is configured like a lip valve and includes a bypass flow channel. The bypass flow channel is formed by an at least one opening which is located between an intake and an outlet and can be covered, at least partially, by the sealing element of the valve. By way of a control member the sealing element can be moved relative to the opening in such a way that the cross-section of the opening covered by the sealing element can be adjusted.
