  • Publication number: 20090075778
Abstract: A connection of a planetary gear drive with a spur gear in an automatic transmission is designed in such a manner that an axial force of the spur gear is counteracted by the axial force from the planetary gear drive, so that an axial equilibrium of forces can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 6261418
Abstract: Headbox for a paper-making machine including a nozzle extending transversely to the machine running direction across the machine width. The nozzle has a lower and an upper continuous wall each extending across the machine width. The lower nozzle wall is supported by several separate supporting elements distributed across the machine width on a foundation. The supporting elements are non-rigid or flexible plates to permit bending in a direction transversely to the machine running direction. Alternatively or additionally, a swivelable or pivotable upper nozzle wall is connected by several separate supporting members distributed across the machine width to a transverse bar attached above a swivel axis. The supporting members are non-rigid or flexible plates to permit bending transversely to the machine running direction.

  • Patent number: 6248214
Abstract: Headbox for a paper machine having a feed part, a central part extending across the machine width, and a nozzle. The nozzle extends across the machine width and has at least one continuous wall that runs across the machine width transverse to the lengthwise flow. For absorbing and discharging nozzle expansion forces in a sectional manner, several separate individual support devices distributed across the machine width for influencing the nozzle aperture are attached to the at least one, preferably continuous wall. The resulting lines of force of each support device remain at least substantially in a plane lying perpendicular to the direction of the machine width and in the flow direction, and the corresponding supporting forces individually, at least substantially, are directed to and absorbed in the central part in the plane of the flow direction.

  • Patent number: 5695611
Abstract: Process for modifying an existing breast box for a paper or cartonmaking machine as well as an intermediate portion for carrying out the process. During the fabrication of a breast box for a paper or cartonmaking machine an intermediate portion is interposed between a supply apparatus and a downstream guiding device, with the material suspension flowing through this intermediate portion wherein, via supply lines, located on the intermediate portion, a liquid is added which differs from that of the suspension stream. Particularly, in this manner, already existing breast boxes can be converted, to water dilution technology, with this invention setting forth special embodiments of differing intermediate portions that can be utilized therefor.

  • Patent number: 5666741
Abstract: A drying section of a paper machine includes a plurality of individual drying groups, wherein the drying cylinders of a drying group are served by 2 respective dryer wire or felt that passes over drying cylinders of the drying group and presses a web to be dried against the surface of the drying cylinders. The invention is adapted for either single tier or double tier drying groups. At least one press roll is disposed between and separates two of the drying groups. In one embodiment, the at least one press roll forms a nip with the adjacent drying cylinder, either upstream or downstream, to define a dewatering nip through which the web passes. A dewatering belt passes over the press roll in the nip. The wire for a respective drying group is guided away from the dewatering nip so that only the web and the dewatering belt pass through the press nip. In alternate embodiments, two press rolls may be disposed between the adjacent drying groups, and the two press rolls define a press nip between them.

  • Patent number: 5626178
Abstract: Breast box for a papermaking machine. A breast box for a papermaking machine includes at least one distribution device for a material suspension extending over the width of the papermaking machine, at least one adjacent intermediate chamber located downstream of the distribution device, at least one guiding device for the suspension located adjacently downstream of the intermediate chamber, a nozzle chamber, having a wide aperture, located adjacently downstream of the guiding device, with the guiding device, the intermediate chamber and the distribution device being releasably connected with each other, and the intermediate chamber and the distribution device being pivotally journalled about a common fixed pivot axis, with the common pivot axis extending horizontally and laterally to the longitudinal direction of the papermaking machine, with the common pivot axis also extending through at least one pillow block fixedly connected with the seat or the foundation of the papermaking machine.

  • Patent number: 5551164
Abstract: A drying section of a papermaking machine includes several drying groups with at least one drying screen each. At the end of one drying group and/or at the beginning of the next following drying group, a finishing roller is utilized. A finishing nip is formed between one of two finishing rollers and a finishing roller and a drying cylinder of an adjacent drying group. Only the paper web is conveyed through the finishing nip.
