Abstract: An improved lunging tool utilized to train animals, such as horses. The lunging tool includes a stiffening component inserted into an internal pocket of the body. The lunging tool is configured to attach to a harness or halter on one end and a lunging line or rope on the other end to enable a trainer to lead the animal by both pushing and pulling on the animal. The length of the stiffening component of the improved lunging tool prevents entanglement with the animal's legs if the trainer drops the improved lunging tool.

Abstract: A microwave based radiant heating system is provided and includes a microwave heating system having a heating cavity and a radiant pipe system having a pipe heating portion, wherein pipe heating portion is located within the heating cavity and wherein the radiant pipe system contains a fluid having a predictable thermal storage capability. Additionally, a fluid pump in flow communication with the radiant pipe system is provided, wherein the fluid pump is configured to cause the fluid to flow within the radiant pipe system and the pipe heating portion.

Abstract: A security container or pallet bin which may be knocked down or quickly erected, includes corner connectors for securing the intersecting side and end walls together. The corner connectors are sheet metal with first and second angled, generally planar legs which abut the adjacent intersecting outer surfaces of the intersecting walls which are jointed to each other along a common corner. The legs of the connector have transversely extending tabs which engage the adjacent upper surface of one of the walls to define the seated position of the connector, and each leg teminates in a flange which extends normal to the associated leg, but which is tapered or inclined with respect to the common corner so that the connector is wider at the bottom than at the top. The flange is received in an accommodating slot formed or cut in the walls so that when the connector is inserted the walls are caused to be cammed or urged together into a tightening relationship.

Abstract: A heavy-duty reel includes a free-wheeling retrieve crank which is movable on a spindle to engage bosses or recesses carried on the spool for retrieval or control of the line. A brake or drag is formed on the crank and is engaged by pressing the crank against the adjacent side of the spool. A band-type drag is operated through a one-way clutch mechanism, and is mounted for control on two levers, one for adjusting the tension in the band for setting a predetermined drag, and the other for immediately applying and releasing the drag. The clutch incorporates a spring-operated shock absorber or strain relief which permits the spool to pay some line out prior to engagement of the set drag.

Abstract: A wood pallet includes a top deck, a bottom deck and spacer members. The top deck includes a pair of end members, a pair of side members, and a plurality of intermediate load supporting members. The side members include means forming inwardly facing recesses for receiving the end members, the recesses including end facing abutments to engage the inside edge of the end members so that inwardly directed forces are transmitted into and partially absorbed by the side members. The end members include beveled ends which are received against complementary beveled surfaces within the recesses to assist in securing the end members to the pallet. The bottom deck is provided with a relatively large surface area, but with openings to accommodate the wheels of a hand transport. The top and bottom decks are separated by means of spacer members including longitudinally extending stringers on which are mounted blocks of plywood.
