  • Patent number: 10794749
Abstract: A device for filling a hydrodynamic coupling with operating fluid and a method for filling a constantly filled hydrodynamic coupling during commissioning and/or for checking or setting a fill level with operating fluid. The device and the method provide the use of image recognition, by way of which an inspection window can be recognized and by way of which a position of the inspection window can be set.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 4, 2017
Date of Patent: October 6, 2020
    Assignee: Voith Patent GmbH

  • Patent number: 8925694
Abstract: A cooling system has a drive motor which is to be cooled by a cooling medium. A cooling medium circuit conducts the cooling medium. A hydrodynamic machine comprising a working space can be filled with a working medium. The working medium is the cooling medium, and the hydrodynamic machine has a seal which is cooled and/or lubricated by the cooling medium. A cooling medium pump for circulating the cooling medium is in the cooling medium circuit. A pick-off is in the cooling medium circuit in the region of the cooling medium pump. Via the pick-off, the cooling medium is branched out of the cooling medium circuit. The branched-off cooling medium is conducted directly through or past the seal to cool and/or lubricate the latter, and the cooling medium which is conducted through or past the seal is supplied to the cooling medium circuit upstream or downstream of the working space.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 8297051
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydrodynamic machine, in particular a retarder, having an external working medium circuit, comprising: a bladed primary wheel and a bladed secondary wheel which together form a toroidal working chamber which can be filled with working medium from the external working medium circuit, which is fed back into the external working medium circuit; an annular channel disposed outside the working chamber, which is connected in a working-medium conducting manner to the working chamber via outlet holes in the primary wheel or secondary wheel, and is in flow-conducting communication with the external working medium circuit in order to collect working medium leaving the working chamber through the outlet holes and supply this to the external working medium circuit.
    Type: Grant
