    Abstract: A centrifugal jig screen with a rotating hutch is supplied with inwardly directed pulses by overlapping fluid supply nozzles and pulse blocks coaxially arranged about the jig axis. Fluid not directed to the hutch interior in sharply defined pulses is diverted into a surrounding shroud, permitting the incoming fluid flow to be substantially uninterrupted during jig operation. Wedge surfaces about the hutch prevent buildup of separated materials as the are discharged from the hutch.

    Abstract: The apparatus includes a powered bowl assembly having a tubular shaft journalled within a base of the apparatus. A pressurized air flow is discharged into slurry in the bowl assembly via a circular array of bubble generators. An impellor discharges the slurry outwardly against an upwardly inclined annular surface of the bowl assembly to cause the slurry to merge upwardly with the streams to promote flotation. Slurry within the bowl assembly forms a vortex with particle flotation forming a froth layer inwardly of a slurry vortex. The froth exits the bowl assembly upwardly past a barrier partially closing the bowl assembly. Heavier gangue particles exit via an outlet about the bowl assembly periphery. A collector shroud is partitioned to receive the froth and the heavier waste material. A modified form of the apparatus includes an independently powered bowl assembly and impellor.

    Abstract: A centrifugal jig receives a pulp material within a rotating cylindrical jig bed for the purpose of separating the pulp into a selected heavy fraction and a lightweight fraction. The jig bed is cylindrical. It is rotated to produce an outward centrifugal force on the pulp material that is substantially greater than the force of gravity. A liquid is pulsed inwardly to produce a fluidic bed within the rotating jig bed to permit settling and separation of the heavy fraction from the lightweight fraction. The heavy fraction is screened and passed radially outward to be collected outside the bed. The lightweight fraction or tailings are moved over a discharge edge of the jig bed and are collected at a station remote from the heavy fraction collection area.
