    Abstract: A cross linked film fibre is made by slitting or splitting polymeric film. In a preferred embodiment the fibre is made into a fabric which is impregnated with a polymeric matrix material. The matrix is preferably also cross-linked, this being done at the same time, or separately from, cross-linking of the fibre. The preferred embodiment is particularly useful for enclosing a substrate.
