  • Patent number: 6584269
Abstract: A fiber optic cable tensioning and positioning apparatus includes a base, and a vertical support wall integrally connected to the base. A first support connects to a portion of the vertical support wall and supports a first portion of the fiber optic cable. A first clamp attaches to the first support for securing the first portion of the fiber optic cable to the first support. A second support connects to another portion of the vertical support wall and supports a second portion of the fiber optic cable. The second support is pivotally connected to the vertical support wall. A second clamp attaches to the second support for securing the second portion of the fiber optic cable to the second support. A knob also pivotally connects to the vertical support wall, and is connected to a cam.

  • Patent number: 6522546
Abstract: A universal support frame that holds a printed (PCB) so that both sides are accessible for processing and testing, and which provides an attachment mechanism for holding a mechanism to cool the PCB as it is being processed or tested. The universal support frame includes a base, and a first board support pivotally connected to the base. A pair of support angles are connected at their first ends to the first board support, and are connected at their second ends to a second board support. A variety of PCBs are capable of being held between the first and second board supports since the second board support is adjustable. Furthermore, both sides of a PCB may be accessed since the first board support may be rotated relative to the base. The second board support connects to a bracket for holding a cooling mechanism, such as a fan, that cools the PCB and prevents it from overheating.

  • Patent number: 6088503
Abstract: A metrology frame for holding, transporting and aligning optical fibers while interconnecting optical fibers. The metrology frame includes an elongated rail and a pair of brackets slidably attached to the rail. The brackets are interconnected to a drive mechanism for moving the brackets along the rail. Attached to the brackets are aligning devices that orient and secure the optical fibers that are led from a fiber cassette. The metrology frame allows the optical fibers to be transferred through a series of optical fiber interconnection steps without having to re-secure or re-orient the fibers between the steps.
