  • Patent number: 6572168
Abstract: A drawer assembly securable against a ceiling surface to conceal a recessed interior. A drawer is dimensioned to be received within the recessed interior of a cover housing secured to the ceiling. The base and sides of the drawer define a cavity arrayed in opposing fashion to the recessed interior of the cover housing. Cylinders secure the drawer to the housing in combination with a pair of slide mechanisms in pivoting fashion along one end thereof. A counterbalance provides smooth and effortless balancing of the combined weight of the drawer and its interiorly held contents. A release mechanism actuates the cylinders, counterbalance axle and slide mechanisms in successive fashion to actuate the drawer to its fully extended position in which the object supportable and open cavity is fully exposed.
