  • Patent number: 8978964
Abstract: A reinforced corrugated container includes a bin having a rigid longitudinal sidewall made of a plurality of corrugated parallel adjacent connected panels radially defining a interior hollow space for receiving bulk material that applies a radial outward force against the sidewall when placed therein. The longitudinal sidewall extends from a bottom edge to a top edge that defines a rim of the interior hollow space. A flexible tubular sleeve made of non-woven material closely is continuously radially engaged with and around an exterior of the sidewall for providing a radial inward force against the sidewall to oppose the radial outward force. The container may also include a plurality of straps for additional girth support.

  • Patent number: 6074331
Abstract: An octagonal container is formed from corrugated paperboard with overlapping flaps for eliminating gaps in the container bottom wall. Prestretched polypropylene straps are automatically applied to the container when in its flattened condition for providing girth support to the container when in its erected condition. The straps are positioned from the lower portion of the container side walls at ever increasing distances from each other for limiting container bulge when carrying products having varying effects on the container. With such an arrangement of straps, economically and environmentally desirable single and double wall corrugated paperboard can be used where typically triple wall and laminated paperboard containers are used.

  • Patent number: 5704193
Abstract: A container for shipping and displaying articles is formed from a continuous, foldable sheet of corrugated boxboard to form a container body having a bottom, enclosing end and side walls attached with and extending generally normal from the bottom and a partially enclosed top panel opposite the bottom and adjacent each end wall with a substantial portion of the top being open. The container is filled with articles to be shipped and displayed and a netting member having an open weave is stretched across the open portion of the top and between the panels, with opposing ends of the netting member fixed to the sides of the container body with a header sheet adhesively fixed to the container sides and with an advertising message printed on the outside of the header sheet. Interlocking stacking tabs and handle recesses are provided for use with multiple containers of the same construction.
