  • Patent number: 11919283
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of providing thermal and/or acoustic insulation to a structure, comprising the steps of: providing a substrate which comprises fibres; applying the substrate to the structure; blending the substrate with a binder composition before, during or after application of the substrate to the structure; allowing curing of the binder composition after the substrate and the binder composition have been applied to the structure; wherein the binder composition comprises at least one hydrocolloid. The present invention also relates to an insulated structure obtainable by said method.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 11, 2017
Date of Patent: March 5, 2024
    Assignee: ROCKWOOL A/S
Inventors: Thomas Hjelmgaard, Lars Hald, Thomas Tielemann

  • Publication number: 20200165399
Abstract: A fire-protecting insulation product has air-laid mineral wool fibres and a binder. The binder is the result of curing a binder composition comprising at least one hydrocolloid. The product further comprises a particulate endothermic material.

  • Patent number: 9371643
Abstract: A building facade consisting of a building wall, an insulating layer comprising insulating elements, having a surface and disposed on the building wall, a facade cladding which is disposed at a distance from the building wall and from the insulating layer to form a rearventilation gap between insulating layer and facade cladding and a lock element provided for fire protection, which is disposed between neighboring insulating elements of the insulating layer. In order to further develop a building facade in such a manner that it can be manufactured simply and therefore cost-effectively without additional structural elements being provided, the invention proposes a generic building facade where the lock element is formed in one piece from fiber material, extends over the surface of the insulating layer in the direction of the facade cladding and exhibits a compressibility and/or flexibility aligned at least predominantly between building wall and facade cladding.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 31, 2013
Date of Patent: June 21, 2016
Assignees: Rockwool International A/S, Deutsche Rockwool Mineralwoll GmbH & Co. OHG
