  • Patent number: 10028016
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, providing multiple video content streams to a display for presentation. The display comprises a primary screen region that presents a first video content stream of the multiple video content streams and multiple auxiliary screen regions that present a subset of the multiple video content streams. Further aspects may include providing a message to the display responsive to receiving a first user-generated input instructing the display to present a second video content stream on the primary screen region. Additional aspects may include recording the first video content stream from a point of departure of the first video content stream. Also, aspects may include providing the recorded first video content stream to the display responsive to obtaining a second user-generated input. The recorded first video content stream is presented on the primary screen region from the point of departure. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20090121191
Abstract: A system for production of CO2-rich product gas, the system including a steam shift reactor for production of shifted synthesis gas from high pressure raw synthesis gas; a hydrogen separation unit to separate the shifted synthesis gas into a hydrogen-rich product comprising a greater volume percentage of hydrogen than the shifted synthesis gas and a hydrogen-lean tailgas comprising a reduced volume percentage of hydrogen than the shifted synthesis gas; an oxidizing unit adapted to oxidize the hydrogen-lean tailgas with purified oxygen comprising primarily oxygen, to produce an oxidized product gas comprising water vapor and carbon dioxide; and dehydration apparatus adapted for removal of water vapor from the oxidized product gas to provide CO2-rich product gas comprising at least 95% CO2 by volume; wherein the proportional critical temperature of the CO2-rich product gas is near or greater than the critical temperature of pure CO2.

  • Publication number: 20070163439
Abstract: A fuel system for an energy conversion device includes a multiple of non-metallic fuel plates, gaskets, oxygen permeable membranes, porous substrate plates, and vacuum frame plates. Intricate 3-dimension fuel channel structures such as laminar flow impingement elements within the fuel channel dramatically enhance oxygen diffusivity in the FSU. The fuel plates are manufactured from a relatively soft non-metallic material. The non-metallic fuel plates and gasket arrangement provide an effective sealing interface between the fuel plate and oxygen permeable membrane, since compression may be applied to the plates without damaging the relatively delicate oxygen permeable membrane.

  • Publication number: 20060263277
Abstract: A fuel stabilization system includes a first deoxygenator and a second deoxygenator both for removing dissolved oxygen from a hydrocarbon fuel. The first and second deoxygenators are arranged in parallel or series to sequentially remove a portion of dissolved oxygen from the hydrocarbon fuel. The arrangement of several deoxygenators for a single fuel stream improves removal of dissolved oxygen and provides for scalability of the fuel system to meet application specific demands. The arrangement also provides for the preservation of partial system functionality in the event of the failure of one of the deoxygenator modules.

  • Publication number: 20060254422
Abstract: A deoxygenator includes a plurality of permeable membranes spirally wound about an exhaust tube for removing dissolved oxygen from a hydrocarbon fuel. The permeable membrane is spirally wrapped about the exhaust tube and defines fuel passages and exhaust passages. The fuel passages and exhaust passages alternate such that each fuel passage is bounded on each adjacent side by an exhaust passage. An oxygen partial pressure differential is generated across the permeable membrane to draw dissolved oxygen from fuel in the fuel passage. The dissolved oxygen is then communicated through openings about the circumference of the exhaust tube and out the deoxygenator.

  • Publication number: 20050150223
Abstract: A plurality of individual shape memory alloy (SMA) wires are formed into a SMA bundle to increase force output therefrom. The SMA bundle has a parent shape and a deformed shape. The SMA bundle in the deformed shape resumes its parent shape once the SMA bundle is heated to generate increased force output. The SMA wires can be configured into strands, ropes, arrays or other shapes. The SMA material is also used in a variety of actuators for generating substantially continuous motion.
