  • Patent number: 8273323
Abstract: In a process for producing hydrocarbonaceous educts, the starting material is autothermally gasified by non-catalytic partial oxidation by adding oxygen-containing gas and hydrogen at temperatures of 1200 to 1500° C. and pressures of 15 to 100 barabs to obtain a raw gas containing H2 and CO as main components as well as the components CO2, H2O, CH4 and traces of H2S, COS, CnHm, N2 and Ar, and subsequently the CO contained in the raw gas is converted to CO2 and further H2 by adding steam. An improvement of the process consists in that in a pressure-swing absorption process the converted raw synthesis gas is separated directly, i.e. without passing through a wash for removing CO2 and H2S, into high-purity H2 and into a gas mixture containing H2S, CO2, H2, CO, CH4, Ar and N2, the gas mixture is supplied to the tail gas wash of a Claus process, the H2S separated is introduced into the feed gas of the Claus process, and the waste gas of the tail gas wash, mixed with the tail gas of the Claus process, is burnt.

  • Publication number: 20070134148
Abstract: From a gas stream, which in a process for the selective removal of sulfur-containing components is obtained periodically and in fluctuating amounts and/or with fluctuating concentrations of sulfur-containing components, the sulfur-containing components are absorbed by means of a washing agent, the washing agent loaded with the sulfur-containing components subsequently is regenerated, the sulfur-containing components separated during the regeneration are converted to sulfur, and the regenerated washing agent is recirculated to the absorption. To achieve an inflow of the washing agent loaded with sulfur-containing components to the regeneration, which is uniform in terms of time, amount and/or concentration of the sulfur-containing components, it is provided to temporarily store the loaded washing agent upon absorption.

  • Patent number: 7157070
Abstract: A hydrocarbon gas containing H2S, mercaptans and CO2 is fed to an absorption plant operated at a pressure of 20 to 80 bar and supplied with a selective solvent, a solvent stream loaded with H2S and a roughly desulfurized gas stream are withdrawn, the H2S loaded solvent stream is charged to a regeneration plant and the roughly desulfurized gas stream is charged to an absorption and regeneration plant operated at a pressure of 20 to 80 bar, a large first gas stream of H2S and CO2 and an unloaded solvent stream are withdrawn from the absorption regeneration plant, and the large first gas steam of H2S and CO2 is supplied to a Claus plant, and a valuable hydrocarbon gas stream is withdrawn from the absorption and regeneration plant.
