The exit trough includes a bracket portion mountable to the top edge of one of the sides of the lateral trough section. Two lead-ins are provided to lead the cable in an upward direction from the lateral trough section to the exit trough. The exit trough includes an exit trough portion extending from the bracket portion upwardly away from the lateral: trough section. The exit trough portion includes a convexly curved bottom trough surface, and two convexly curved upstanding sides. The exit trough portion and the lead-ins define a cable pathway from the lateral trough section to an exit point of the exit trough portion which can either lead downwardly relative to the lateral trough section, or horizontally.

A projecting member extends from a concave surface of the arch-wall and is spaced from the sidewall portion to receive a top end of an upstanding side of a lateral trough therebetween. The arch-wall passes through the plane occupied by the upstanding side of the lateral trough at a significant angle, i.e. greater than or equal to 15 degrees, in order to allow for a lower profile above the lateral trough.

The upstanding sides define an enlarged central portion of the cable trough, and the bottom portion including at least one exit trough portion. The exit trough portion can be centrally located, with a bypass pathway on either side. At least one separator wall is provided to separate the exit trough portion from each bypass pathway. A component flange is also provided extending from one of the upstanding sides. The cable trough can also include a cable storage pathway. Alternatively, two exit trough portions can be positioned on opposite sides of the cable trough adjacent each upstanding side, and on opposite sides of a central bypass pathway.

Abstract: A coupling for a cable routing system includes wall guides spaced apart by a thickness equal to a thickness of the walls of fiber troughs to be joined by the coupling. The wall guides carry a fastener system including a bracket disposed to oppose an external surface of a trough or fitting attached to the coupling. A fastener is carried on the bracket and is axially drivable to pierce and penetrate into the wall thickness of a coupled trough.
