  • Patent number: 5147264
Abstract: A resistance reel for an exerciser includes an extractive band extractible against an adjustable force of resistance and rewound by a return spring. A central pin has mounted thereon an extraction section and a resistance section. The components of such sections that are rotatable relative to the central pin are connected by a clutch means for non-rotatable connection in an extraction direction and are freewheeling for rewinding of the extractive band. One end of the central pin is intended for non-rotatable attachment to a stationary point.

  • Patent number: 5133700
Abstract: A flexible sliding mat may be provided on a floor and used with an exerciser to simulate skating, snow skiing, etc. A user's feet slide from one end to the other end of a sliding surface member of the sliding mat and bear against transverse stop/kick-off edge elements at oppostie ends of the sliding surface member. The stop/kick-off edge elements are displaceable along sliding mat for adjustment of the length of the sliding surface member. Each edge element includes a pair of members including an upper member placed above the sliding mat and a lower member placed below the sliding mat. Each lower member has a flange which extends beyond the longitudinal side of the respective upper member. The upper and lower members are connected by screw bolts and nuts extending through aligned holes at each end of each pair of members.

  • Patent number: 4545604
Abstract: A clamp connector for pipes, of a type for use in a water service line, comprising a connector housing (1) having internal threads (2) for engagement with a clamping nut (3) having external threads (4) and a conical portion (5) extending axially from the threads (4) intended to engage with the base (6) of the connector housing, the leading portion of the cone (5) being intended, when the clamping nut (3) is tightened, to be pressed into sealing and retaining engagement with a pipe (7). The base (6) of the connector housing has two conical portions (9,11) separated by a cylindrical section (12) the two conical portions (9,11) being intended to engage with two clamping nuts (3) having different orifices corresponding to a different size outside diameters of the pipes that are to be coupled to the connector housing (1). The clamp connector can thus be used to connect pipes having different outside diameters in a tee-connector.

  • Patent number: 4516649
Abstract: A terrain-traveling motor vehicle (1) has twin caterpillar tracks and bogie assemblies (2) pivotally attached to the frame (3) of the vehicle, comprising a rear pair of drive wheels (5) mounted on the frame (3) of the vehicle and a pair of front wheels (7) each of which is supported on a pivotable belt-tensioning arm (9) disposed on the forward end of a bogie arm (8) found on each bogie assembly (2). The rearward end of the bogie arm (8) is supported by shaft journals (4) proximate to and in front of the center axis of the pair of rear wheels (5). The bogie arms (8) are movable in the vertical plane by hydraulic pressure cylinders (6) controllable from the cab of the vehicle for upward and downward pivoting of the bogie assemblies simultaneously or independently of each other, and for tautening the bogie tracks.

  • Patent number: 4488138
Abstract: A three-stage temperature switch, preferably for hot water heaters, having regulator contacts in the 1- and 2-branches of the switch, wherein the operating thermostat and the safety thermostat are connected to the casing of the three-stage switch for, respectively, maintaining an operating temperature by connecting and disconnecting an electric circuit via an operating contact in the L-branch of the switch, and monitoring a higher, critical temperature for disconnecting the electric circuit via switching contacts in the 1-, 2- and L-branches of the switch if the critical temperature (e.g., 95.degree. C.) is exceeded. The switching contacts are constituted by the regulator contacts and by a switching contact on the L-branch, which three contacts may be simultaneously actuated by an adjacent body which has mechanical contact with and is moved by the safety thermostat.

  • Patent number: 4253536
Abstract: An articulated, cross-country motor vehicle, especially for forestry work and the transportation of timber, comprising front and back pairs of bogies with belts, pivotally attached to the frame of the vehicle by means of transverse axles or shaft journals. The bogies are independently and/or mutually pivotable and adjustable relative to one another in the vertical plane by means of hydraulic pivoting members controlled from the driver's seat of the vehicle. The vehicle consists of a forward, endless tread vehicle and a trailer provided with a hitch. The two components are releasably coupled together and arranged so as to be mutually universally pivotable relative to one another.
