  • Patent number: 4553876
Abstract: A drain pipe intended for use when laying surface-water drains, manholes and like structures, particularly in frost susceptible ground. The drain pipe has a length such as to enable the pipe to connect a drain cover with a drain-bottom part or a tubular raising member which is connected directly to the drain-bottom part or is connected to the drain-bottom part via one or more additional raising members. The outer form of the drain pipe is slightly conical over at least a part of the length of the pipe, the pipe being arranged to be mounted so that its widest end faces downwards and can be inserted into a socket or collar of the aforementioned drain-bottom part or of a raising member. The invention also relates to a method of laying a drain while using such a drain pipe, and to a drain laid in accordance with the method.

  • Patent number: 4486122
Abstract: A method for reducing the risk of freezing of surface-water pipe-line systems of the kind comprising a plurality of drains and other inlets, such as rain-water drains, manholes and inlets from terrace and roof guttering, etc. Means are provided which prevent or reduce air currents in at least one of the drains and other inlets through which the flow of air would otherwise be excessive. The means is designed to permit water to flow therethrough without appreciable gathering of water therein.

  • Patent number: 4475844
Abstract: A tubular drain vertically positioned within the ground beneath the ground level in the vicinity of surface water and having a tubular drain cover-support member anchored in the surface ground layer with a tubular part of the drain cover-support means extending down into the tubular drain, so as to be axially movable relative thereto as a separately movable support element in annular disc form placed around the tubular part of the drain cover-support member so as to be axially movable relative to the drain while being guided by the upper part with it being anchored in the surrounding ground layer in a manner so as to be able to exert a downwardly pressing force from the underlying drain when relative movement is obtained between the drain and the supporting element.

  • Patent number: 4419232
Abstract: A device for use in water drains provided with an outer drain grating for preventing accidents and coarse material falling into the drain. The device is intended for separating and collecting particulate impurities, such as sand, wooden pegs and leaves, and also oil and other liquid impurities passing through the grating. To this end, the device includes a holder ring intended to be mounted under the drain grating, and carrying the combination of a coarse-filtering and protecting means and a fine-filtering means. The coarse-filtering and protecting means is cup-shaped and arranged in the holder ring, while the fine-filtering means comprises a filter bag of a flexible and water-permeable cloth or fabric material arranged around the holder ring. The holder ring is preferably funnel-shaped and provided with a mounting flange arranged to be firmly clamped beneath the drain grating, and the coarse-filtering and protecting means comprises preferably a wire basket.

  • Patent number: 4325572
Abstract: An arrangement in vertical tubular structures, such as rain-water drains and manholes, comprising a plurality of pipe sections placed one upon the other, for preventing the surrounding filling mass from penetrating the joints if the pipe sections move relative to one another. The arrangement comprises a sealing cuff arranged to be placed around the tubular structure in a manner such as to cover the joint between two mutually adjacent pipe sections, and to be pressed sealingly against the outer cylindrical surface of the two pipe sections. The sealing cuff is such as to permit a limited relative movement axially between the pipe sections. Suitably, a protective sleeve made of a rigid material is arranged around the pipe sections beneath the sealing cuff.
