  • Publication number: 20090092438
Abstract: An applicator adapted for applying a liquid from a source of liquid to the skin of an individual subject. The applicator includes a housing delimiting a chamber, and a roller rotatably mounted in the housing with an adhesion side extending into the chamber and a transfer side extending out of the chamber. A cylinder is attached to the housing, at least one outlet and one through hole which are formed in the wall of the cylinder, is connecting the cylinder to the source of liquid and to the chamber, respectively, with the through holes axially and angularly displaced in relation to each other. A slider is arranged for sliding between first and second positions in the cylinder, a recess is formed in the slider, and the recess communicates with the source of liquid in the first position of the slider via the at least one first through hole and with the chamber in the second position of the slider via the at least one second through hole.

  • Patent number: 5676928
Abstract: The invention provides a diagnostic composition for administration to human or animal subjects, the composition containing multilamellar liposomes, optionally together with unilamellar liposomes, the liposomes containing at least one imaging agent and being suspended in an aqueous medium containing said imaging agent, wherein the liposomes comprise a neutral phospholipid and a charged phospholipid, the average particle diameter of the liposomes is 50-3000 nm and the concentration of imaging agent in any aqueous phase filling the interior of the liposomes is substantially the same as that in the aqueous medium in which the liposomes are suspended. The contrast agents concerned are typically X-ray, MRI or ultrasound contrast agents.

  • Patent number: 5496534
Abstract: The invention provides the use of a physiologically tolerable, particulate, free or matrix-borne, ferrimagnetic or ferromagnetic material for the manufacture of a diagnostic agent for administration into the gastrointestinal tract, the reproductive tract, the urinary tract, a closed body cavity (e.g. into the synovial fluid or the vasculature) or the musculature for magnetometric imaging of the human or non-human animal body.

  • Patent number: 4832940
Abstract: The present invention provides targeting polypeptides for use in targeting and identifying activated T-lymphocytes in the human or animal body, the targeting polypeptides being capable of binding specifically to the interleukin-2 receptors of activated T-lymphocytes or to molecules associated with the receptors and carrying one or more physiologically compatible imaging agents. Such targeting polypeptides can be used for, example, in the location of tumours and abscesses and other inflammatory conditions and in the monitoring of tissue transplants for possible rejection.
